According to the Virginia Department of Health website, Key Measures - Coronavirus page, the Northern Region (about 2.35M people) has had one death in the month of August (by Date of Death, not by Date Reported). More could be reported with a lag, but from the graph it is pretty clear that things are looking very positive. Probably positive enough to consider opening schools.

Daily would be great, but even being able to have intermittent access would be helpful, I think. You couldn't test the kids every morning before school, but people could test ahead of family gatherings, for instance.
Yes it would be OK if I could test just ONE family member rather than all 4 of us. That would be way too much and I"m wealthy.

All very interesting to read. It supports the notion that herd immunity is a very inexact science and could vary from place to place/pocket to pocket/etc.

I agree. I think the vaccine will likely come much earlier than people think. Just hope it hasn't been politicized to death before it gets here.
When do Moderna/Oxford expect to conclude their P3 trial and then report on them? We could have 3 really good P3 trial candidates finish by Oct. That is GREAT.
