All of those speaking agreed that this Senate would not convict and remove. They seemed very clear and unequivocal on the point; but that impeachment must be done for history.
What the ultimate eff will this autocrat do to destroy our country between now and then?

"She's going to go through some things" has to be the most glossed-over threat out there. Of course she felt threatened. It's positively terrifying, and I can't begin to imagine how she feels walking around looking over her shoulder. What on earth could DJT have meant other than something threatening....
I found that threat chilling. Especially coming from a man who has no respect for women, has been repeatedly accused of rape, including by his ex-wife.
He's responsible for many deaths and the displacement of thousands of Kurds. Does he really care about a single human life, especially a female one who's getting in the way of his corrupt plans?

Yep.
1) Brian McCormack, an energy official at the OMB who was called to testify on Monday
2) Michael Duffey, a national security specialist at the OMB who was asked to appear Tuesday
3) Russell Vought, the acting director of the OMB who was asked to appear Wednesday
OK, so jail them! What's preventing this from happening?

If we lose the election and analysis shows that part of the reason was the reaction to the impeachment in the swing states, I hope you will recognize that reality and not rant about racism and deplorables.
Yes, I am a Democrat and I think this impeachment exercise is asinine. Trump will be acquitted in the Senate and will claim victory and will say it was a totally partisan move to damage him ........ and that message will likely get through to some independent voters. Of course, you can then rant about uneducated Trump supporters who are traitors, etc.
We should all be prepared to lose an election to stand for our principles. There is absolutely no question at all that impeachment is the right thing to do. It is for the history books. Four more years of Trump and some judge appointments do not have the same weight.
It's amazing how people cannot look past their own little immediate interests. Taking a stand for the integrity of the Republic is far more important than you or me, PP.
Please ...... this has nothing to do with integrity for most who vote for impeachment. Are you seriously suggesting that if the circumstances were reversed and we had a Democratic president who indulged in the same conduct, Democrats in Congress would be ranting for removal ........ or for that matter, the Republicans would not be making the same sort of arguments that the Democrats are today why that Democratic president should be impeached? No, Democrats would be making every excuse for why impeachment is not warranted.
My primary goal is to get a qualified Democrat in the White House. It would be foolhardy to take any action that does not accomplish that goal - and that is the point that Willie Brown is making. And that was Pelosi's reason for caution before she caved to pressure.
If you think Democrats would not be in favor of impeaching a Democrat who did all the crap Trump has done, you don't understand the party.

I thought pursuing impeachment was not the right move, until all of this corruption starting coming to light. He may be re-elected, but as a nation, we have to a least try to enforce our laws. We need to have some standards.
And it’s not just hatred for Trump. HRC started this sh#tshow with her server nonsense. I’m really sick of standards being applied unevenly. What he is doing may be 1000 times worse, but she opened the door.

NP here and thank you PP. This is not a game. People's actual lives are at stake.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Such a dumb more by Democrats to go for impeachment.
Check out what Willie Brown says:

Totally asinine.
Pelosi, who is politically astute, knew it was a dumb move but she felt cornered by the loony left who will be the downfall of the Democratic party.
I think Pelosi thought Republicans would come to their senses but no, they stand behind the crooked PoS Trump. Sad!
Pelosi is way too shrewd to have thought that it would be anything other than a partisan exercise. No, she lost control of the process and was railroaded by the loons on the left.
People of integrity. Pity they are do few. And unsurprising that you would call them loony.
Look in the mirror.
