Each team had multiple players leave the field hurt, some cramping but also several game stoppages for what in the old days would have been called getting your bell rung. STA looked like they were grabbing guys from the parking lot to find subs. Surprisingly nonexistent penalty calls, and both sets of fans were convinced they were getting screwed. Both teams played very hard, credit to them, back and forth game. Each team had one guy with a hat trick and otherwise scored by committee, team effort. Either team could have won or lost at the end of the game or in OT, probably anyone watching would have assumed close game but Bullis will have the last possession and score/win. Don't know the percentages but FO from STA took over in the second half and won both in OT including the fast break goal. Both goalies made critical stops down the stretch or it would have ended in regulation or 1 OT.

What your basis for saying that? My opinion is that the best D3 programs would compete well with D1s in the middle of the D1 pack. And that those who assume that all D1 recruits are better athletes/lacrosse players know very little about the college game.

Yeah, I’d encourage my kid to pick W&L- and about a dozen other D3 schools over Mercer, Queens, Hampton, Mount St Mary’s, Iona, LIU, or any of the bottom 25 D1 schools. Anyone who thinks D1 is always better than D3 is delusional.

Facts

From a purely lacrosse perspective, perhaps one may choose a D3 school over Hampton. Hampton would likely result in a much richer experience for African American lacrosse players. Please note, I am not African American but have to imagine that being a Black lax player at Hampton would be a significantly different experience than playing at Tufts.

Has STA gone through some huge level of improvement since then? They were competitive with Bullis in a game at the end of the season and beat them in the payoffs.

The Landon comeback from a 6-goal deficit can be described as super-effort, but at least in part GP may have been assuming the game was in hand and relaxing.

Will GP be looking at this as easy given the 8-1 game earlier?
