One really cool thing to note is that regardless of how the H.S. season turns out this year, many of the featured players will be competing against or with each other for the next several years in the AAC. Robinson’s star midfielder, Centerville’s middie/defender #8, and Madison’s middie/attacker #9 will all play for Cincinnati, while Oakton’s star midfielder #11 (and later Woodson’s #12, and Kettle Run’s goalie) will play for JMU, and Madison attacker #5 will be playing for ODU. They should all be commended for representing Northern Virginia public schools so well.

Losing the District Championship after an undefeated season is not a good look. Losing the Regional Championship to a less talented Madison team is an even worse look, Will Oakton prevail?

Props to Oakton for beating Centerville 3 times this year. Usually, it’s a tall order to beat a decent team three times in a row. Blaming the refs for all three is a really bad look. The problems, besides Oakton simply having a more talented roster, is that Centerville relied too heavily on its top two players, and the coach didn’t seem to adjust much from game to game. Oakton also out hustled Centerville, coming up with a vast majority of ground balls and causing Wildcat turnovers.

Mind blowing conversation with a centreville parent in the parking lot tonight. I thought he or his wife (I assume here) they’d be pissed or angry or whatever. Totally not and totally compliments towards Oakton. Didn’t like the reffing but who is on a loss does? Pretty kick ass guy who I’ll have a beer with. 👍

What was interesting was he laughed at all the centreville hype and broke down that team: 6 great lacrosse players plus 2 great field hockey players, a good enough goalie and GREAT coaches. 😂
That’s what everyone was afraid of this year!

I asked about next year and he just smiled and said “we’ll see, but beers are on the winner.” Do not buy a used car out there! 😂

11-9 Madison final.

Evidently Yorktown was up most of the game and lost it at the end.

Bad information, 2nd half was total domination from Madison

Agree. Madison didn't just win it at the end. Yorktown came to play and jumped out to a 3-0 lead and it seesawed back and forth from 1 to 2 goal lead for Yorktown for most to the first half. Yorktown 8-6 at half.

Madison dominated a hard fought second half--5 goals to 1--and won by 2. Madison was able to hold the ball for last 6 mins. Warhawk seniors simply would not let the game get away.

Yorktown goalie played a great game, but Madison kept grinding away to get quality shots. Good game.

5 goals to 1 in the 2nd half is not total domination especially considering Yorktown was a .500 team coming into this game. Yorktown still managed to put 9 into the Warhawk net. Not bad for almost all sophomore and junior offense. That would have made a great upset.

Basically CV lost their senior starter at the start of the season and had to ride with a new sophomore all year who did admirably given the situation.

Pretty much. CV lost their “stud” junior goalie early in the year due to medical (don’t know enough to speak on it) and they brought up #33 from JV. 33 killed it for them.
Their former goalie may never play again due to her medical situation and that’s a heart break. I don’t know more, third hand info here. Their current goalie has stepped up.

For all the centreville propaganda, they are cursed. Just when they start to move up, they get beat down.

Can someone correct me if wrong but their best win was vs Langley and best accomplishments are their 4 all district recipients based on what? Stat pumping vs inferior teams?

winning lax is way more than scoring goals.

Oh. I forgot. The bbq platter.

You are very much correct. All hype. Losing record in last 10.

1 of 4 teams in the Regional Semis in the best region in the state. That is all hype? What team do you support? Don’t hide warrior

Not clear why we are talking about Centreville anymore...

Madison making a big playoff run. Oakton back in command in Regions after losing for the first time this year in the Concorde District title game. Rematch in the Regional final later with week, with more exciting matchups coming at States. Robo and Battlefield out there. More fun and relevant stuff to talk about.

Can’t wait for “someone” to explain the centreville goalie situation this year so some people can kick the d@$& out of their mouths and actually shut up. It’s Hollywood with the heart break and relief.
