Spoke to a parent and announcement is tomorrow morning with meeting after in the evening.
Gotcha, no reason to wait on the announcement until after the meeting since word has gotten out.
Agree. Maybe to let girls news settle. I've also heard multiple scenarios, so question is which is true? Heard they get Next 2, but also heard they get 3 teams (1 in Next and 2 in Next 2) which doesn't happen. They do need to just put it out there for the families but that would be too easy.
Academy and ECNL teams trained together tonight and coaches told them 1 MLS Next and 1 MLSN2 team.
So all the ECNL team is now in the equivalent of ECNL Regional League...(the MLS2 teams are all RL-like teams in the mid atlantic)
I’d argue MLS2 is lower than RL. All the teams added to the Carolinas division are NPL teams this year, which in this area are not at RL-level.

Don't know enough to comment about MLS2, but frankly all but a couple age groups should probably be in a RL-like environment anyway after the loss of players to Fox. Hopefully that changes with the MLS Next offering and trickles down to MLS2 and teams below, but who knows.
