JLo recently introduced Emme with non-binary pronouns. That’s it - no further publicly shared details. Nor should there be for a young teen.

I don’t think “pained” is true. I think he’s just not into putting on smiles for the paps and keeps it neutral. Besides, the magazines choose which of the hundreds of photos they want to publish. They’re selective and push a narrative.

Is this a honeymoon or a royal commonwealth tour? Jlo is so extra. I think that’s what bugs people about her, or at least me. The same attention seeking mentality as a Kim Kardashian. Always striving for relevance. Me me me.
Haha, also can’t stand Mariah Carey! But I will say it’s fun to see Ben actually seeming to like that about Jlo. I hope they’re as happy as they seem.

She was very girly then.
Elle and Seraphina look and dress exactly like my 14 year old and her friends, who were also pretty “girly” a few years ago. This is fairly typical for teenage girls right now.
NP here. I have a 14yo daughter and she and her friends do not dress like this at all.
Most of the girls in DS’s class don’t dress like this either. The are very into short skirts, LoveShackFancy and a very girly look.
Where do you live and is your kid in a public or private school? I can get how private school girls would have to wear this stuff, but normal kids are dressing more androgynously.
Hmm, I’m in fairfax county and public school tween/teen girls in my daughters circles have both look going on. I think of it like the Olivia Rodrigo girls have their short pleated shirts and polo shirts and work out tops and the Billie Eillish girls have the baggy shirts and pants look
Ah, the burbs.
Are you saying the teens in the city are less likely to have be androgynous look? It sounds like you’re saying urban kids are all into the Frou-frou feminine look, with no mix of looks. If so, that’s an odd take because usually people criticize the suburbs for homogeneity—but here you’re knocking the suburbs for having a variety of different looks? I’m in MoCo and I agree that the androgynous look is still big here, and more popular with the 13-14 year old girls than the frilly feminine look.
No, I agree with you. I was the one who originally said the two celeb kids look/dress just like my 14 year old and friends, and I think this look is more ubiquitous among city kids.
Yeah, Yeah, I don't know any older tweens/young teens who dress in a girly way. It's definitely tomboy looks, loose dark clothing. I approve. They look comfortable and like themselves.
This is all so interesting to me. quote]
I am in Fairfax and my 14yo and her friends go to Catholic school. When not at school, my daughter usually wears a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Kind of an athletic, clean-cut look. Her friends also dress like this or maybe leggings. They neither dress girly girly (but I have seen some girls in their class like this at some social gatherings). But no one ever wears androgynous baggy. I have not seen this look since 90s grunge. And I am happy about that!
You’re right, not so androgynous. Jeans, sweats with simple tees, sometimes crop tops. Unfussy hair, no makeup. But the girly dresses, skirts, and rompers are long gone. Would wear a dress for a dressy occasion only. Non-binary kids dress more like Emme and Sara, or mix things up according to mood.
Yes, when I see kids that age dressed like Emme and Sera, that says non-binary or going through some other type of issue where they are trying to hide their body. Not comfortable with their body changes? Not comfortable with attention? Something else going on in their life?
You clearly don't have a tween or teen. There are even some 5th/6th graders in my younger child's class that have cut their hair short and dressing in baggy clothes. It's what's in style, PP.
That is what I am saying: I do have a child this age. I have a 14yo daughter. I guess you think everyone has the same experience as you and your kids. Wrong.
Geez lady, I'm just saying that there's not something WRONG with a kid just because they choose not to dress are girly frilly like your kid. Take your own advice, you nasty old hag.
Nobody is saying there is something wrong with them, just that they are likely LGBTQ+. I am a new poster and I have a girl this age too. She does not wear frilly dresses but she does not wear mens polos either. There is a clear difference between fashionably androgynous and ill fitting men's clothing.
This is where I need some education. I see many that identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community wearing flattering clothes and looking like they made an effort to go in public. I hate these styles where you look like you threw on clothes that are 3 sizes too big, not the least bit becoming to their particular style and messy unkempt hair. You look like a dirty slob, not gender fluid. You don't have to be done up to the 9s, makeup, painted nails and gender identifying clothes, just stop looking like a vagrant.

Does anyone know anything about this dress? I love it!
It’s Oscar de la Renta

I love that dress. She's worn some great dresses on this trip.
Yes, for sure. She's very conscious of the importance of appearances, make up, looking sexy, and fashion choices. It shows.
It's not really a "sexy" dress - it's a midi dress with a full skirt. She's sexy and probably can't do much not to be, insofar as she'd even want to. But that dress is prim.

Look at Ben, he looks a mess!
Anonymous wrote:One more look I really liked from their Paris outings
I just don't find him attractive. And, my god, he smokes so much when she kisses him he has to taste like an ashtray. Smoke gets in your clothes, your fingers smell, etc. There was a woman that smoked on her breaks and waxed my eyebrows and the smokey, ashy smell of her hands would almost make me puke.
