Ehhh, not really. Parents invested in all this absolutely see the mistakes their kids make. Those more casually watching do not. You don’t need to be a scout to see how decisions are being made. Not much risk on the clubs’ part making suboptimal selections since nobody gets through this channel anyway.

This. We all know that nothing will come from the selections, so this is really just about the experience. It's just annoying when you know that the TDs/coaches aren't using performance as criteria to bestow that experience. I mean it's not as if we're not all watching these games too.

we can expand this to playtime. but I like this ID topic. As do others. Has your club spoken in criteria at all? I bet if we took a poll it would be interesting to say the least. I only have heard of one club locally at least discussing it preseason.
