Before the DB debacle round deux, people suggested that team is staying with McLean. FVU sounds like a complete disaster with the continued risk of losing their badge. That said, I’m not sure why you would switch over there at this point vs letting the next few years play out. My hunch is FVU takes a few players from Valor and the rest are a mostly crew of kids from other clubs. And Yes, this team will not be competitive in ECNL for a variety of reasons. The only thing that may change all of this is a really strong coach, which seems unlikely given all of the recent antics.Anonymous wrote:Now that DB is gone from FVU and CW is very close to retiring — will the MYS 2014 girls come over like the 2013s did? My guess is “no”… which means FVU 2014 will be REALLY weak!
also aged like milk a cereal bowl in the sink.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:will DB be with FVU next year?
Yes
Will FVU be in ECNL next year?
Yes but they are on thin ice due to the boys.
FVU is good, they have one of the best coaches in the country on the girls side. MV is bringing total football to ecnl

Who is ON? There are no coaches with those initials on their website.

Are those the only kids who they will realistically consider for the team next year?? Does a player who is unknown to them prior to tryouts have any sort of chance? A bit frustrated because DC left a team where they almost certainly would have been one of the kids picked to be looked at by the FVU coaches, but on new team does not have access to such opportunities. It was DC's choice to leave the old team due to a toxic coach and teammates. Maybe would have wanted to stick it out if we had known how FVU was handling things this year. I do find it hard to believe a couple of the kids from the old team have a real shot at making the FVU team, but at least they are getting exposure to the coaches.
If your kids good they are good, coaches will take the best. But if you knew you wanted to go to fvu in the long run, you probably should have tried to stick it out. Coaches talk and what they say to each other also holds high value
Nahh, you’ll be ok being at McLean. They aren’t taking many from the “Alliance” anyways.
Thanks for the response (all be it late), but we're not at McLean. When we were leaving our club it was not part of the alliance. Now we are at Loudoun and wouldn't mind trying out FVU. I know my DC would make it but how do I get her looked at by FVU earlier to tryouts. I know a lot of people here are saying FVU will take the best and others are now saying that "alliance" teams are getting early looks and coaches already know who they want. A lot of confusion here.
