Maret will be paying less than 100k/year to use a piece of land that DC paid 15 million dollars a year to buy. If Maret is so sure it’s paying a fair market rate for the field, why did it push to get a no-bid contract for the field?

I’d love it if DC took possession through eminent domain of Maret’s large front lawn and built affordable housing apartments. That would advance social justice and be a nice finale on Maret’s private use of Jelleff. And the DC government isn’t constrained by historic provisions where other public goals would be served.
