If Madison, Oakton, and SL all win their final games I believe we won’t know matchups until they have a coin flip for the top 3 seeds in the Concorde

WS hung around with us for a half, 5-5 at the half. Their freshman attacker is pretty good and kept them in it. But they did not have any answers, coaching adjustments or any depth to have gas left in the 2nd half and the Rams were able to open it up and pull away. Could see them knocking off Woodson or West Po in districts if they can figure things out.

Doesn’t help their schedule that Robinson is off their peak but still will advance to States. Even Woodson might advance to States again out of Region C.

Maybe. I think West Po could beat Woodson if they play again.

Woodson back!

Good mix of upperclassmen a standout sophomore goalie and the “Magnificent 7” freshman. They will face adversity and lose a game or two but they will only get stronger and probable be on another collision course with YT in state semis.
Circle March 24th first test of year for them against YT,

This exemplifies the point. BF probably would be a middle of the pack team playing several years ago. The drop-off in terms of girls playing the sport and high schools fielding a handful of skilled players, let alone teams in some cases, has changed dramatically. Being a dominate player or team is different today. Teams with the most average to above average players will dominate. That’s how far the talent pool has fallen for many high schools.

When my daughters played very skilled players were cut and sent to JV. Players who went on to play at the highest level in college didn’t make the varsity roster. Today, freshman make varsity because teams lack depth. Some high schools can barely field a varsity team. This is not isolated to one school, but seems to be a growing trend.

It remains to be seen how the new pay-for-play in college sports will impact women’s lacrosse. Today, there are nearly 130 teams, many added by schools simply to comply with Title IX requirements. As college ADs grapple with spending tens of millions on men’s football and basketball to try and remain competitive something will have to give. Will they cut men’s non-revenue sports. If so, women’s non-revenue sports will follow and lacrosse will be at the top of that list.

I think we will see fewer D1 women’s lacrosse teams in the future and more D3 and college club programs emerge. The allure for kids (and maybe more so for some parents) in the past was the D1 label. Will this have any impact on the interest in the game? Who knows. The sport is not growing in the DMV. There are some good players, but the depth in talent is gone. A “gamechanger” today would probably be an average player of yesterday.

Isn't it time for your nap? How's your DD doing on that 130th ranked team?

Maybe BF/Stars dad should do some self reflection. Looks like other BF players had no problem making Capital, and BF would struggle against GC, SR, VISI and SSSAS's JV Teams which is the level of "same field" BF would be on. If I was a BF parent I would be looking to get my kid to a private to get away from the negativity.

Constant hating on clubs, schools and players and then defensive when its dished back at you.

There is no negativity with the BF parents about anything because I’m one of them. All the girls that made Capital are excellent players and a great fit for Capital. The others did not fit their mold and have found other places to play. I commend all of them, the freshman and older girls, for just wanting to contribute to play the game we love to watch

If you think the private schools don’t have orange or Pride girls on their team, you are delusional. They even have girls that don’t play club

But some of the stuff about BF, just stop. I for one can say it is not me posting anything negatively about your daughters, but I do get tired of grown a$$ men degrading young ladies. All you are doing is embarrassing yourself

If you notice, when BF played YT, none of the FANS from YT complained (yes, there was an unfortunate incident, but I hope this is fully resolved and won’t ever happen again). And now with the Madison parents, nothing but mutual respect. Anytime we have played teams, there is a level of respect. Yes, we are VERY loud (and you know what pal that is) but it is not anything unlike any other schools who are invested in their kids sports).

I believe The real reason people hate BF so much is because we come from a lower set of income that the other high income schools, so we are looked down upon. I’m not saying BF parents are poor, because they are not. What I am saying is that Prince William as a whole is a much poorer county than all of the other surrounding counties

Now, what is interesting about this is that neither Arlington County nor Loudon County parents ever, or rarely disrespect BF on the board. It mostly comes from the Fairfax and Alexandria parents

And yes, we know who most of them are. A couple were former parents (which is unfortunate, because their parents were loved by the team, but they needed change, and change is ok).

So, yes, we as a school at BF have been working hard to gain respect in Northern Virginia as an actual contender. That is probably why you hear so much about us. I know we can be a little much. But in all honesty, we love our girls the same as you do. I will NEVER trash your daughter, and if anything comes out of my mouth that is interpreted that way and you point it out to me, I promise you that I will think about that to understand why it was interpreted that way so it doesn’t happen again. Because the last thing I ever want to do is disrespect your daughters

So, I would very much like to ask that we all talk about lacrosse, trash talk each other in good harmless fun, BUT, today we keep it respectful and all about lacrosse

Now, I know people are going to continue to rip BF apart. So be it. But I will kindly request that if you are going to talk negatively about BF to NEVER talk negatively about a specific player. There has been a ton of talk about our ASU commit (who has been an amazing leader this year) and now the freshman who won the game against Madison. This is not OK. Today is all I ask. Nothing negative about specific player on ANY TEAM. Let’s try to be better. Because what we do in private will be seen by someone who matters even more in the end.

As far as the, well she needs to go to a private school theory. None of these girls are going pro. So they want to continue to play with the girls they have grown up playing with, and continue to go to school with their friends in order to have a nice balanced life. So please keep you, private schools are so much better theory to yourself. We are fine. If one or more of them want to leave and go to a private school, I for one will be sad to see them go, but I will 100% support them, because that means they think that it’s best for their kid. It’s none of my business, just like it is none of yours

The last thing I want to point out, you all think there is a riff at BF amongst the parents or players. What I would also like to point out is that BF is one of the BEST traveling teams in the state. Our parent sideline is always full of parents to support each other and our players
