I mean, whoa. I'm a feminist who is very open with my daughters and would NEVER. NEVER! If they ASKED I would tell them I guess, but ... no.

They aren’t in it for mtv’s money. So they are absolutely doing the best choice by pulling Carley way back from c and t. How would you like to be in elementary school and have your parents talking about you and your parents on tv like that?
So why cancel a meeting so late. Why not inform them earlier that you do not want contact? Can they not say no more contact instead of yes, but I might change my mind, no, yes, oh wait, not now

+1! And maybe add in some girls that decide to use long term birth control options to prevent pregnancy and maintain some control over their lives? Let’s glorify that.
They tried to show teens making the choice of adoption, but that didn't work out too well as a cautionary tale either. We have the C&T shitshow, and one of the 16&P girls who chose adoption (the one who went to Catholic school and had really religious parents) ended up with two more babies, by two different boyfriends.
There was one teen mom who had a sister who had also gotten pregnant and chose to abort. They played up the sharp contrast between the sister who didn't have a baby and the teen mom, who was jealous that the sister had so much freedom while she was tied down with a baby and a deadbeat baby daddy.
Brianna and Brittney?
Yes, C&T shit show
They are more like a cautionary tale
They do not have a good relationship with adoptive parents.
Adoptive parents have agreed to visits y cancelled these at their convenience when they have felt like it
They have not been able to rebuild their lives, have a constant need for therapy and have all kinds of issues
Truth is that many people make adoption out to be more romantic than it is
To be fair, I believe c & t would need therapy regardless of the adoption bc of their upbringings. And...their open adoption is voluntary - meaning there is no Legal requirement on brandon and Teresa’s part. It would have been much healthier for them to have a closed adoption or open with legal parameters. But c and t need it to be an open wound for the show.
Are you sure that the show is not the one insisting on talking about it?
Either way, the romantic adoption story sucks
Adoptive parents don't like c & t. They mislead them by promising meetings that they cancel
A lot of deceit here. C & T thought they would be more active in the adoption than what they have been and have understandably been left heart broken
ABSOLUTELY the show has made it worse for Catelynn and Tyler. Making them discuss it at length every episode and having it be their only storyline for years. Honestly, the more obsessive they got - a giant blanket with Carly’s picture on it? - the further the adoptive parents backed away and they should be commended for that. And the parents didn’t mislead C&T - Bethany Christian Services did. The same agency C&T shill for.
