2128 I think you are the moron. The Hill Academy JV was present yesterday but lost to Prep 11-1..

landon and severna park played a hill academy team that was missing several of their aces / committed player. Hill has several committed players.

Too early to say who the best player in the area was last year. Let's wait and see who who makes an impact for their team this Spring.

We get it, you are a hater and continue to post on other lacrosse message boards how much you hate the IAC schools, especially Landon.

The really weird dads on this thread are focused on:

- proving that some public schools are just as good as private schools in lacrosse

- proving clubs don't teach lacrosse skills and are the downfall of lacrosse

- proving certain schools are not as good as their son's schools in terms of lacrosse

Thanks for killing a thread intended to help those who are learning about the sport and how it can help their kid. You bizarre dads should find a lacrosse bragging forum.

Best player in the area last year was Jack Rowlett at Robinson, a public school in NoVA. There are a number of kids from the program's you listed who'd start at any IAC or WCAC team. The main difference is the concentration of players at the preps that may have 5-7 impact players versus 2-3 at a public.

Don't buy the whole nurture versus nature argument either. Sounds a lot more like you have some excuses after junior got worked by Canadian 9th graders and pushed into tight games by those lesser publics. Whatever helps you cope.

You're an idiot.

You dads are weird. I thought this thread was to help give advice for people whose kids play lacrosse, not a thread for lax dads to measure whose penis is bigger.

Isn't there a lax message board for you guys?

The coaching at a few of the privates is the difference maker when you compare them to a few of the publics.

I do think a few of the publics have some individual players who are just as good and even as some of the players at a Gonzaga , Landon, a Geprgetpw a Prep, PVI and a Bullis.

The privates improve dramatically over the course of a season when it starts in late February and ends in mid May. As a fan of the game in general, some the coaching staffs at Landon, gomzaga and Prep far exceeds ten coaches on the sidelines during games. I can't imagine how much individual coaching some of these kids over the course of a season in the spring. I'm pretty sure publics are limited to how many coaches they can have present and even how long their practices and how many times they can practice in a given season.

While the gap is closing for sure between the elite private programs and the stronger public programs in the state, there is still a big good size spread - as there should be.

However you are foolish if you don't think there are kids a program like a south river, Churchill, Robison, Howard, who could be impact players in the IAC or WCAC.

You can't rely on fall scores because kids are out for various reasons (other sports, injuries, etc.) And as the previous guy mentioned, they are coached by dads and it's not the same as when they play in the spring.

Churchill and Severna Park have some good players and had some good showings. But LOL if you really think they can hang with the top privates in the DMV.

It's fall ball, dad.

Im not a big fan of comparing scores. Teams use summer and Fall events to gauge talent , evaluate their roster and even give some JV kids an opportunity to play.

You are delusional to compare Fall Ball scores, where there is a running clock (two 18 minute running quarters) and kids are being coached by volunteers, boosters or even alums.

Severna Park lost to Landon by a pair of goals and was the team that gave Hill the most competitive game they had today. Lost 6-4 to Hill White team that beat Landon 9-6.
Severna Park is a public MD team and they were quite good today. I wouldn't go so far to say that MD publics are better than VA publics because I have no idea about that. But Severna Park was among the better HS teams at the event today, and assuming they are one of the top publics in MD, I'd concur that those teams aren't lesser than the second tier preps like PVI.

And honestly people, for all the bragging it really would be nice to see PVI win out at an event like this to shut the naysayers up. But they never do, so then take it.

Robinson would beat PVI this spring.

I am not a PVI guy. But you are complete blinders on. Churchill would get thumped by Robinson and the best VA public schools. Suggesting they could beat the top privates in this area is pretty funny.

That is ridiculous. Churchill at full strength would not beat PVI at full strength. The top MD public schools are a joke. You are high.

Not shocked since Madlax is all about the profits. But they should have just had 1 or maybe 2 teams that might have been reasonably competitive. They are basically robbing those families, especially those who had to pay for another hotel, another day of meals, etc.

Anonymous wrote:My son's team wasn't at this tournament, but I see the scores listed. How was Landon in the semifinals if they had lost the pool to Hill Academy?

Also, I see that Madlax made four free agent teams from their pseudo recruiting event on Saturday. Those four teams went 0-12 and were outscored 153-15.

Did Madlax actually charge kids to get pummeled like that? Wow.

Hill has an 8 hour bus ride home and left after the round play to get kids home for school tomorrow. Money grab strikes again. Yes, pretty lame to sell 80 more registration fees to kids on those pick up teams. But then again, you're shocked to see that happen?
