Sure Nunes is probably a True Believer. But McConnell? He doesn't do ANYTHING that doesn't benefit him. How does he benefit by passively supporting Trump? Maybe he is blackmailed, paid off or knows it is rigged. We don't have enough info to know which it is. But I would bet money it is one of those.
It's a lot simpler than that. They are all afraid of the base. 90% of Republicans love him. If McConnell turns on Trump, the base will turn on him.
