Are those the only kids who they will realistically consider for the team next year?? Does a player who is unknown to them prior to tryouts have any sort of chance? A bit frustrated because DC left a team where they almost certainly would have been one of the kids picked to be looked at by the FVU coaches, but on new team does not have access to such opportunities. It was DC's choice to leave the old team due to a toxic coach and teammates. Maybe would have wanted to stick it out if we had known how FVU was handling things this year. I do find it hard to believe a couple of the kids from the old team have a real shot at making the FVU team, but at least they are getting exposure to the coaches.
If your kids good they are good, coaches will take the best. But if you knew you wanted to go to fvu in the long run, you probably should have tried to stick it out. Coaches talk and what they say to each other also holds high value
Nahh, you’ll be ok being at McLean. They aren’t taking many from the “Alliance” anyways.
Thanks for the response (all be it late), but we're not at McLean. When we were leaving our club it was not part of the alliance. Now we are at Loudoun and wouldn't mind trying out FVU. I know my DC would make it but how do I get her looked at by FVU earlier to tryouts. I know a lot of people here are saying FVU will take the best and others are now saying that "alliance" teams are getting early looks and coaches already know who they want. A lot of confusion here.

Yeah but in this case, there isnt one team that is directly fed into a club. It is different. Not saying better, but it is different.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Those sidelines are going to be lit! Talking trash to each other before the team is even formed. Ask NVA how that “alliance” worked out
This is a good point. None of these alliances ever workout. Buyer beware…

FVU already compiled the names of players who are currently at alliance clubs. FVU also know who they are interest in.
Based solely on coach recommendations, or something else?
coaches recommendations and some in-person observations/veo. Joint practices might happen to take a closer look.
Exactly! All you haters that said Valor would not dominate because the alliance is meaningless just got your butts handed to you. FVU 2014 Girls will be Fairfax Valor Union. No other alliance team for 2014 has anything worth mentioning.
Valor parent here.
None of the parents I spoke with in groups or in private speak like this. So, yes. I agree it is just some troll trying to stir the pot.
Yes we do. Don’t be shy. Be proud of our kids. They’re doing great and has been a heck of journey getting here. Sorry (not sorry) if I give it back a little. We’ve certainly been taking it for a while.

A heck of a journey? With your child, who is still in elementary school? You sound a bit overinvested. Not good for your kid.
The Valor parents have had a lot of ups and downs. That's all I was referring to you idiot
