Prosecute for gun crimes. most DC offenders are DC offenders whose charges were reduced or dropped. Seems simple,.no?

They’re not interested in stopping crimes. They’re only interested in taking away guns from people who aren’t criminals to begin with.

+1. Take the guns, defund the police, pay people to not work and instead sit idle all day, and then wonder why violent crime escalates. Talk about low IQ.

This story is just maddening:

While I'm ranting, highly recommend John Woodrow Cox's recent book on gun violence, Children Under Fire.

That’s how I feel about people who speed excessively or those with deadly, highly contagious diseases who go out in public without proper protections or those that sell cigarettes or high fat and sugar food.

Other people’s fat and sugar endanger you? Please.

We’re talking about death dumb ass and that stuff kills more than guns do every year. Worse it increases health care costs. At least when you’re shot and killed the health care costs cease.

Name calling is so puerile. The subject of this thread is firearms. Go start your own thread if you want to talk about controlling other people’s diets.

And if you think that health care “costs” have anything to do with actual risk, you’re the dumb ass. Your insurance and copays cost what they do because of profit motives (even in ostensible nonprofits), high salaries for personnel and executives, dividends and share price increases for corporate stockholders, and because the very existence of health insurance raises costs to consumers. Do you honestly believe that if outlays went down everybody would charge less?

Typical gun grabber.

“Name calling is so puerile” …. then calls names.

Vote Democrat and make your views known to your elected leaders.

But democrats keep saying they’re not trying to take anyone’s guns away.

But you tell people they should vote democrat so the democrats will take guns away.

Y’all are morons. You can’t even get your messaging straight, and you end up looking like the obvious liars you are.

Well done.

Probably 2/3 of Americans own guns. who cares what you would do. i don't care if you have a fire extinguisher.

No it isn't. Read the Miller decision that put this thinking in play. The person convicted was not part of a militia. However, the Supreme Court did not say that is the conclusion of the case. They analyzed the particular gun used and said it had no military purpose. The militia was used as a term separate from National Guard.

The “militia” in the Constitution refers to the able bodied men of the community, who were expected to be ready to appear for service, fully armed with their own weapons, ammunition and equipment, when called up to do so. The weapons they were expected to bring with them specifically were “weapons of war.” Hence, the very reference to the militia entails individual possession of firearms.
