It’s for wrinkled stay at home triggered middle aged women that are over impressed with their overpriced houses! They whine, complain, and look at their grey frumpy little husbands with disgust as they sip on their wine and squint their eyes like they tasted something bad. They think they look 29 because they are skinny fat when they look 50.

Watch out for karma.

Yes they should be watching out for karma and it should be arriving soon because they are a bunch a nasty $&*@#$!

McLean is “prestigious,” whether you like it or not (for example, members of Congress, including the former Speaker of the House, the former VP, and the former Secretary of State live there, well-known journalists live there, the past and future Governor of Virginia lives there, many pro athletes live there). Sorry if it bothers you so much but that’s your problem.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but there are VIPs throughout the area. Plenty in Alexandria and Bethesda, and even more inside the district.

Yes, thats what I mean. So many rich and important people all over the area. At least in the Mclean, Vienna, Oakton area. And so many more IN dc proper. I am confused why McLean has a certain cache.

I think McLean has the highest per capita of locals who are impressed with themselves.

Traditionally, McLean was mostly military people who lived in tiny brick boxes (after WWII). Proximity to D.C. introduced more and more and bigger and bigger houses, in the past few decades. But the latter is true in almost all metropolitan areas. McLean doesn't have anything special, least of all its lack of sidewalks, too frequent power outages, and "downtown" area.

Not sure if the OP is new here, but in the DMV, there are four or five prestigious places to live. Kalorama will always be the top, but McLean on the VA side and Bethesda on the MD side will always be 2(a) and 2(b). Potomac, Georgetown, Great Falls and Cap Hill rounding it out closely thereafter. This has been the DMV for at least the last 10-15 years, if not longer. Whether it should be this way can be debated, but these locations will always draw the higher income and more prestigious of our community, with obvious exceptions.

NP, but from what I’ve seen of the DC area McLean is certainly one of the nicer suburbs, with many beautiful homes. I gather the local schools are top-notch as well.
