Yup. Is it back on Prime?
It's a fun watch, but it's not like Shtisel. More of a cliché portrayal where the viewer is invited to be outraged at how terrible and oppressive ultra-Orthodox life is. The one thing I think it does well is give a glimpse into the experience of Jews from the former USSR adjusting to Israel.

You hear Shulem refer negatively toward “Zionists” and Giti is clearly horrified by her son potentially marrying an Ashkanezi woman. There may be other examples I didn’t pick up on..
I also had a Jewish friend who was insulted that I recommended it because I know she likes family dramas. I was surprised, but then I thought about the intense conflicts in the Jewish families I"m friends with over religiosity and politics. Maybe I wouldn't want to watch a show that treated people like my white, MAGA, Eastern shore family sympathetically?
Exactly (i’m the PP who raised it). Interesting how previous posters seem very offended I even mentioned it.

I was also trying to guess the baby's age and considering they hold her all the time or shei is in strollers or crib and does not crawl as she would show some intent, I assumed around 8 to 10 most even considering difference in development, but frankly baby is first shown on tinny side so I would thik first one.. less then 8 but this would be too young..

Did anyone else think that the nursing woman in the painting was Libby, not Kive’s mother?
He said to the baby? Did I miss that?
I remember her saying she wished she could brestfed her again, at this point I did not know yet she was not alive but I remember something strange and not right about her vibes and I was suspecying something is very wrong so when hr had the flashbacks in the Gallery it felt almost like he was in denial in the painting scene and in the car but also it was gradually sinking in me earlier. Did he hallucinated or just daydreamed about her?
