No but there are a lot. I generalized. If that wasn’t your comments intent I’m sorry.
However I have seen many posts bashing teachers for willing to return in person after the vaccine when doesn’t that make sense? Many teachers didn’t want to go back not because of laziness but fear. Now we’d really have no argument.
I’m in the no vaccine camp (due to illness) but I’ll gladly come back knowing others are vaccinated. Why do people think that’s evil? It seems like teachers can’t ‘win.’

Yep. I have friends who are teachers in rich districts and they get a gift basket once a week. The one last week had a $75 gift card in it, bottle of wine, a glassed etched w “because distance learning” and chocolates.
Versus my kids school where about a 1/3 do an end of year gift. Some of the well off parents are from abroad and don’t understand that people do this and then so many parents can’t afford to.

OK, fine, which term would you have preferred me to use when comparing the amount of appreciation teachers have been getting from kids and parents to that shown to people in other professions? The point is the teachers have not been disrespected by the people whom they are supposed to serve. There may be individual parents and kids who occasionally show disrespect, but overall the culture at least at our school is to show the teachers constant appreciation.

Children do not "legally have to get the flu shot". Where are you getting this misinformation? Only some children get it every year, and it is about 60% effective at best.
And don't tell me you "fear" we may be hybrid for a long time - you are secretly wishing for it because otherwise you won't FEEL safe. Hopefully, decision makers are going to be more rational than you. Experts agree it would be nuts to wait for a pediatric vaccine before letting schools open full time.
And to the previous PP: the flu is not "that other coronavirus". The flu is caused by influenza virus. Otherwise I agree with your post.

And the hell? Why are you putting words in my mouth, hybrid is where I see DCPS headed for the fall. And ‘experts’ haven’t dictated school reopenings so far, why do you think it would in the future?
Never in the history of the flu vaccine and flu pandemics have open schools ever been made contingent on children getting a flu shot. This country needs to come to its senses and accept that a small risk of Covid will persist, just like it does with the flu and probably smaller even without pediatric vaccinations.
Uh huh. There’s been cases of COVID left and right, most not from school but it doesn’t change the fact that the class has to quarantine for 2 weeks. I for sure can imagine multiple classes having to quarantine because of specials and more students means more kids have to be on the playground.
That’s part of the reason why I’m sure hybrid is coming until the US is more stabilized like other countries.
And again, I want in person school but we are talking about the barriers to fully reopen.
We were talking about the fall right here (not on this thread overall). By then, it is highly likely that the US will have “stabilized”, yet you are predicting that we will be in hybrid “for a long time”, until all kids are vaccinated. My point is that bringing up the flu vaccine to bolster that prediction makes absolutely no sense.
