There was bad stuff that happened with the kids that they didn’t mention. There seemed to be big pieces missing about her mother, barely mentioned her sister and focused weirdly on hangers on. And it ended without any answers! I love a good doc but this just left me with an “OK? And...?” feeling. And also that her fans who were out in the street for her were weird.


The documentary skipped over her severe mental illness!

There’s a greater than 50% chance she had a schizophrenic break in her early 20s and she is not capable of taking care of herself today.

Too many people don’t have direct experience with the severely mentally ill.

This article is a little over a year old, but it answers a lot of the questions posters are raising here about Britney’s conservatorship and why it’s still in place - worth reading. She appears to want the conservatorship and the current dispute is only about who manages what.

Go back up in this thread where I posted the criteria for a mental health conservatorship in California. Or, Google it. It has to be a serious mental illness or serious chronic alcoholism/drug addiction.

And no, YOU don’t get to know Britney’s exact diagnosis. It is none of your ducking business. She hasn’t disclosed it publicly which means she doesn’t want her fans to know. Or anybody! And she is entitled to that privacy.

As I understand it, Britney has been petitioning to change her conservator - not challenging the conservatorship in principle. That means she knows that the medical professionals would provide assessments to the court indicating she still qualifies as needing the court’s involvement.

She was admitted for treatment during her initial public breakdowns in 2009. Why do you think her records need to be public? Why do you think the conservatorship was ordered?

I do believe she has mental health issues, but if she is truly schizophrenic she has been managing remarkably well. Not many severely mentally ill people could hold down their own Vegas show, record albums, film music videos, etc. But if she is that ill then her conservators need to back off and stop forcing her to work.


I agree, these people want it both ways. Is she severely ill? Then why put years of a intense Vegas show that requires a ton of work on her shoulders. Is she not that ill? Then let her have some control over her life and finances. Can't do both without raising questions, and that is exactly what is happening.

I think this is important. How much of her illness was caused or exacerbated by her father (upbringing), who now benefits. I can’t speak to her illness but having a neutral third party as conservator seems like a no-brainer.




Unless she has PTSD misdiagnosed as bi polar or schizophrenia, her upbringing didn't cause her illness. Her younger sister is fine. I think her well being today certainly is impacted by having no say or control in her life.


Her younger sister is absolutely not fine. She had a child at 16, and the strong suspicion is that the father is an exec at Nickelodeon who was sexually abusing Jamie Lynn, while her parents turned a blind eye, because $$$.
