Nope. When I was growing up in the 80s the out of wedlock birth rate in the black community was lower than it is now.

As for skills, education, and earning capability, the black community was and is disproportionately harmed by illegal immigration, which was encouraged and tolerated as working class black people pressed for safer working conditions and better pay.

Barbara Boxer warned about this years ago.

There ABSOLUTELY is communities telling their kids not to focus on school or value education. In many communities, being studious means you’re “nerdy,” “goody two-shoes,” and I could go on. Where I grew up, you’d (and did) get made fun of if you wanted to study at lunch, read a book, or *gasp* like math class. And there are definitely communities that think going away to college means you think you’re better than everyone else. After all, you’re leaving your community behind. And they do not value the investment of college. “Why go into debt when you can just get a job and not be in debt?” I suggest you read Hillbilly Elegy. I attended public schools that were 88% FARMS, majority AA/Hispanic.

Absolutely agree. My dad, white, grew up in a community like that where there was no respect for education. He was mocked for working hard and for working double shifts so he could pay his own way through college. This is a social issue that affects all races and ethnicities.
