At any rate, it’s devastating.

I wonder if he told Jen he wanted to separate, and she struck first by filing to have the upper hand? It still seems out of character for her though, not to really fight for her marriage.
Some sort of abuse towards one of their kids? I can see her filing in a snap.
**POSSIBLE WORST CASE SCENARIO** [if we are flinging around wild-ass guesses]
I could also see an ongoing affair with an already existing child that was recently discovered.
COVID lockdown means Jen was not off running the kids hither and yon + her normal work routine, and being around the house 24/7 means his possible time that he relied on for his other relationship was not available.
The OW may have said "Enough is enough" and outed the relationship -- or he did.
The shortened timeline from "We are dealing with something" to the outing by the Christian press (b e y o n d tacky, for the record), and the immediate reaction of the kids to rally around Jen and revert to King, suggests that this is the very definition of a fait accompli, not something that has yet to come to pass.

Who poses for pictures with prophetic little sayings like that. How many takes does it take to get the ideal shot that captures his contemplative self? It’s just a bit much. What ever the reasons to their split, I do feel for them. But, shit, they are just adding to the drama, gossip, and speculation with the false humility and retrospective.
Pure speculation — but church leaders liked his IG post so we can assume that something egregious with them is probably off the table.
The tone seems like he failed at some sort of sobriety. If so, he has my empathy, sober living is hard and this evangelical wine mom culture makes drinking a personality trait. If he has a disease and is being cast off by his family, that would break anyone.
But doesn’t explain the kids all turning against him and changing their names. I’m thinking it is an affair and some sort of addiction.
