Great point. He was, from my observations thru the years to be very involved and close to the kids. I certainly wasn’t in the know, but just casual run ins and observations. Unless, he’s gone totally off the rails and wants to live the loner biker life. Maybe she didn’t want to be hi ol’ lady and ride bitch on his Harley.

Perhaps.... but corny is right, and the melodramatic poses with the hat and the horse is too much for me. Come on man. Suck it up buttercup. Life’s tough and hard. You ain’t the only one who’s weathered tough shit, made horrible choices, or had an addiction or whatever may be going on. Times are tough all over- people are being burned out of their homes, having their homes destroyed by hurricanes, losing their livelihood, and literally dying from a pandemic. Those are the real tragedies. Sure it sucks for them and it’s horribly sad and tough, but he’s likely not worrying about where he’s getting his supper tonight or whether he has a roof over his head and clean clothes to wear. I imagine he’s got plenty of cash to pay his bills, get another cute “biker” tattoo or get some tassels for his motorcycle.

Brandon’s posting on IG seems like trying to get back in the game and that he has nothing to hide. Some of it may be corny, but honestly reads more genuine than Jen’s brand of authenticity.

The fact that she filed isn’t really any indication that she wants the divorce, though. When I asked for a divorce my ex-husband filed.

I know it was Jen that filed but maybe it’s Brandon who is insisting on leaving? Call me a fan girl but short if hurting the kids I can’t imagine a situation where she wouldn’t choose to work on the marriage.

An STD - while a big deal - doesn’t seem like it would be any bigger of a deal than generic infidelity. Also, while infidelity would be a deal breaker for most, I don’t think it would be for her. Initially, I thought something horrible and possibly illegal, but he’s not been charged with anything. I’m inclined to think it is more of a love child situation. What else would make her kids completely side with her? I think she could forgive an affair. But maybe he just had an affair and wants out...her willingness to forgive wouldn’t matter, and the kids would definitely side with her. I am sad for her and for their family. They really were remarkable and responsible for a lot of change and acceptance in the Christian community.

The reaction from Brandon reminds me of the marriage of a family friend. The husband (the one in the spotlight) drank a lot more than he should have and went to rehab. He’s been sober for a few years now. Along the way, his wife started documenting her own recovery journey of being married to an alcoholic in the spotlight. He up and realized his wife was sharing in excess his private story online and subsequently had a following of her own. The wife ditched her particular path of faith and began deconstruction after being in therapy due to the addiction and marriage issues. She just reached a breaking point and she ended up having an affair. They have several young kids. Now the husband is trying to rebuild his image online. He wants to be with her but she doesn’t want to continue in the marriage. It’s really hard to see it happen but there is a lot that goes on when one partner in the marriage is in the spotlight.

An addiction could totally be spun into a PR goldmine. Rehab stint, apology, recommitment it the family, all during Covid, it practically sells itself.

Only a love child can not be spun into something positive. It’s something Jen wouldn’t be able to forget or move past. A lifelong reminder of Brandon’s betrayal.

COVID lockdown means Jen was not off running the kids hither and yon + her normal work routine, and being around the house 24/7 means his possible time that he relied on for his other relationship was not available.

The OW may have said "Enough is enough" and outed the relationship -- or he did.

The shortened timeline from "We are dealing with something" to the outing by the Christian press (b e y o n d tacky, for the record), and the immediate reaction of the kids to rally around Jen and revert to King, suggests that this is the very definition of a fait accompli, not something that has yet to come to pass.

Yeah, but wouldn't that have hit church gossip? They wouldn't be supporting him with likes. I mean, I guess they would support the fact he chose life and didn't push an abortion for the other woman, but otherwise no. I don't think there is a love child or that he abused anyone. If there were abuse toward one of the kids no way church leaders wouldlike his IG post. It would have gotten out and the last thing a church needs is to be showing support to an abuser. Maybe he has done repeated infidelity and has a sex addiction. Isn't that what Glenon Doyle said was the case with her husband-sex addiction? In some religions there is a while lot of forgiveness for men who stray.
