All that matters is that the democrats show up.
And they can’t vote if they’re dead.
So, Whitmer is definitely making the right call.
This! I live in Michigan. There are good things hsppening with the "draconian" restrictions in place. The convention center they turned into a hospital only has a few patients, not 900. Another place is not going to open because the curve is flattened.
These restrictions only go to the end of the month. It snowed today in Michigan so you don't need to be out on your damn boat. No one puts flowers in here until Memorial Day if they are smart.
This just hysterical conservatives trying to takr down a woman.
I think the weakest part of her order was banning construction and landscaping. That was problematic.
It's amazing how you people keep referring to her gender. Are people not allowed to protest measures by an elected official if that official is A WOMAN??? JFC.
As to your last sentence, I completely agree. These are industries which can easily still be in business, just as they are here in VA. Lots of construction and landscaping projects going on around my town. Face it - while her restrictions are similar to many other states, she does take it too far.
There are other governors, some republicans, who have imposed much more "draconian" measures, yet for some reason, they are not being targeted.
Really? Who else has decided certain things in OPEN STORES may not be sold because they are "non-essential"?

Two weeks keeps turning into another two weeks. Know why? Because if they said two months, they would have to justify why. It's not 2% mortality, btw. It's looking more like POINT 2.5 to POINT 3%. Which is why all of a sudden the way they count deaths is different.
COVID 19 is going to be the #1 cause of death in the US this week. We are on track for it. Usually it's heart disease.
And heart disease deaths have dropped to almost nothing. What does that tell you?

I'm not that poster but we are finally seeing some numbers
1/4 of deaths are related to nursing homes
I would bet most of the other deaths are people with serious underlying health conditions
It's still tragic but shutting down the country for something that has a very low mortality rate and even lower for healthy individuals is ridiculous.
Social distance and wear masks but we need to get people back to work

You seem to be seriously underestimating how many Americans have serious underlying health conditions. Why is that?

This is what I've been saying as well. Protesters in Richmond today. Other states with small protests. If this continues without a plan or timeline to reopen, it will grow.
Trump has no plan or timeline. That IS his plan. He wants the unrest. He wants the civil disobedience. Let's start calling it for what it is.
He's had both. If he has any plan, it's now to make the governors own their own decisions. We've shut the country down on the back of bad data, and that data has come from where?
If we re-open without testing and vaccines, we will have Spanish Flu redux.
We'll have that anyway. The difference is, this virus is affecting the elderly. Most of the deaths are occurring in that population, with the lion's share at residential facilities and nursing homes, brought in by workers there, that often work in multiple facilities.
