They have both. They have one set of floor plans that's the traditional SFH - yard, basement, etc. They offer another set of floorplans that's more TH style that does not have a basement, but instead, has a rooftop terrace.
They're too close to other people. You don't have a yard big enough to say smoke a 15 lbs brisket for 14 hours without pissing off your neighbor. You can't plant a decent size garden. What if I want to blast heavy metal and play drums, or smoke? No one wants to pay $1.5 mil to have to have someone live that close next to you with a common wall. The only time you pay that much is if you live in an actual city in a row home or swanky condo. TH are notorious for being difficult to re-sell and do not appreciate as much in value. Are there fees too? HOAs suck.
