Most teams that train on one surface and play matches on another another have issues, not just Arlington. How well a player and team can adjust is the key.

Sure they've won games because of it, but those girls aren't getting better doing that. My kids have played in multiple clubs (not FCV) and against Arlington for years. Go watch them play. Even a novice can tell they don't pass the ball. The arrogance is what takes the cake though. The parents think they are playing the sport the right way. It is comical.

Who is the arrogant one? You are the one who willfully came into an Arlington discussion board to attack the playing style of the club as if how they play was some crime against your family, nature and humanity. You might just want to get over yourself a little bit.

I am sharing my opinion on Arlington girls soccer - some may find value in it, some may not. No big deal, certainly not a crime against humanity.

As I read through the posts...found this one...and this is what I based my arrogance and novice comments on.

What is arrogant about it? I did not read any condescension only an analysis of the general style and tenor of the games they observed in their opinion. That it disagrees with your observations does not invalidate the person or make them arrogant. Why does your analysis or observation hold any more weight than theirs? In fact, your belief that your opinion has more credibility and weight is exactly what makes you the arrogant one.

But I will give you the benefit of the doubt and repeat your hard hitting and very detailed analysis of whatever Arlington game you have watched, "Even a novice can tell they don't pass the ball." If that breakdown does not settle the debate I don't know what will. :/

Watch the video. If you have the time and interest, post specific time points where the video shows possession soccer. Like I said, a novice should be able to tell that it isn't possession soccer. Or maybe I am giving Arlington parents too much credit since I have heard them on the sidelines yelling "great kick" over and over again. "Kicking" the ball has very little to do with the sport being played the correct way.

I watched a good chunk and I did not see the egregious kickball that you are accusing Arlington of. I did not see Tiki Taka but I also did not see a "send it!!" at all costs either. What I saw were two balanced teams competing for every ball and pressuring/challenging every possession. At the 19:20 mark demonstrates an attempt at not pressing forward when it isn't there and trying to maintain possession. I saw several attempts at intended passes for possession that simply became 50/50 balls.

I think direct ball (non-development) portion in the following video is what you have in your mind of how Arlington is playing and it simply is not true. I also think you believe that every team that attempts to adhere to possession style will always look like the "development" example in the video.

Has Arlington perfected all the elements of possession soccer under high pressure? No, but then again the one single game as "evidence" was a evenly matched, highly contested tie with fairly even possession time with very little to no sustained possession by either team.

I'm the OP of that post and I stand exactly by what I wrote, based on my observations of the games I have watched. My observations were not of the game/video you show, nor were they of that age group. You have no idea who I am or my ability judge style of play, not sure why you feel the need to speak down to others when you have no idea which team and what they observed.

If you are really interested, feel free to attend several games in person. Schedules are posted on the DA website. No need to cherry pick video to make your case on a Mom and Dad's board.

Don’t waste your breath. There is a poster here whose mission seems to be to trash all of the elite options and this is exactly his/her MO. Loves the drive by shooting and then drawing people into debates and tearing down clubs in general. See the VDA, Loudoun, BRYC, Spirit, McLean threads. Funny that there is no similar attack piece on FCV, but that’s probably just because their teams get the results, so no one is picking over their video. The agenda posters here really make the board very entertaining!
