This comment is untrue on it’s face. Saying that no one has heard of the University of Virginia is like saying no one has heard of the state of Virginia. This type of post is a sign of a troll at work. Essentially, they don’t even care to mask the stupidity of their remark. The goal is to incite people. Sounds like Trump.
Almost everyone has heard of University of ___________ (insert state).

This “revival” was started by a UVA hater. The very next post was a hate post. Clearly, this person has an issue with UVA, but everyone in the DMV, especially those in VA, know that UVA is a great school and bargain. This requires no debate or “revival.” If you prefer another school and/or can afford better, congratulations. Let’s move along from this discussion.

It’s basically the SLAC of elite state colleges with a fantastic law and business school.
None of these are like SLACs, but UVA may be a bit more like an SLAC than the others. The others are bigger research universities than UVA, but that doesn't make UVA worse as an undergraduate school.

+ 1 Great way to put it. All four of the big four are unique, and if you live in Cali, Michigan or Virginia, you’re really lucky to have them as in-state options.
What makes it comparable to a SLAC?? It is a great uni but I’d say William & Mary is the one more like a SLAC.
