How much will it cost for my kid to be on the pitch completely alone? Who cares, it doesn't matter. My daughters soccer development is not really linked to Monday's field size, the amount of players training on a field and cost is an argument is based on misleading issues. As a player, my daughter will be having to surveil the pitch quickly, looking for good decisions and appropriate risks, and make offensive/defensive transition accordingly under the guidance of the coaches/trainers at Spirit. If anything the translation to a larger size training area will give her and her teammates more time and be more effective since they will have already made the requisite looks/touches/decisions based on the trainings increased pressure of small spaces. I'm really hoping that our daughters can properly weight and direct a pass across a 2 player path if need be without Monday's training side being the lynchpin to their individual and team developmental success.

To the WS VA 04 parent who wants a bigger training portion of the field. I really suggest that tonight you engage with some of the parents that you don't normally talk to discuss the various perspectives of training area size and its effect on training.

The difference is they are not here posting about it. If you are going to attack the club that your DD is currently at in a public forum then you really should just leave the club. You have demonstrated that you have zero interest in solving the problem and you are not offering any new information.

That was my post. I was talking to an 03 parent last June whose daughter had not been offered a spot on the U16/17 team and asked about the EDP team. He said he had not heard about it. I am pretty sure it does not exist.

Ok, thank you so much for clarifying. I couldn’t remember exactly what it said and it’s hard to find anything on this forum on such a topic because it’s been talked about (or rather the DA has) on multiple threads. It’s always interesting to me to hear about the VA side.

I think Tom does consider EDP the solution to not cutting players. Anyone who didn’t make the DA team was offered an EDP spot to remain with the club.

Just curious, does anyone know which DA teams are participating in EDP for the U16 issue and whether or not that schedule would mirror the DA schedule? It would make sense logistically, assuming that enough DA teams were handling the problem this way.

The teams involved are listed here: https://www.edpsoccer.com/news_article/show/916339 (Except MD is incorrect). EDP hasn’t posted any schedule for any team U16 and up for girls across the board.

The way I read this, the DA division stands on it's own. The logical answer to the scheduling question is that the teams will play when the rest of the DA teams go head to head, for logistics (other than the CT team). If these DAs kept extra players on their general rosters, then there's a good chance they will play as described under the EDP banner, the same way FCV will play their players in this situation in VPL/NPL.

Oh, I get what you mean now. The same thing is happening at WS MD as is happening at WS VA. Well fortunately. We have 18 on 04 roster. We hae not heard that anyone would be dropped to PT. No one has said that generally. Perhaps some parents individually heard that.
