I feel bad for her - school hasn't even started, she's been on the job for exact 3 weeks, has had 2 open houses, and you are already unhappy. How about looking at the positive?
I guess I was hoping for a principal to have better communication practices than the last.
School for students doesn't start till September. Why not have a lunch meet and greet with students then? Or an assembly to welcome the entire student body with a reminder to end the practice of hazing students on "Freshman Friday" (first Friday of the school year).
Are there to be additional sessions with parents and students at a time families don't have vacation plans? Or is this a MCPS maneuver to say she had the obligatory meet and greets?
Who knows. After so many years with crappy principals at Hoover then Churchill, perhaps I am a bit jaded. I will be a happier person when my youngest graduates and no more MCPS BS.
Since you asked, the next student meet and greet is August 6th from 2-4 pm. August 30th is the new student orientation, a parent coffee fro 9 am - 10:30 am and a new student parent meeting from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
September 6 is back to school night. October 8th is a parent coffee and open house form 8:30 am - 1:330 pm.
I am as frustrated as anyone but give the new principal a chance. She seems pretty enthusiastic and willing to listen to the Community.
Thank you DCUM poster for providing the list above!God knows it should be coming from our school but I guess at least now we know when the next dates are. Thankful for small miracles and kiss ass parents.

And Russia among other countries!
True!

It was announced at the meet and greet for the principal last week.
