Nope, Hogan is not a moderate. He's a run of the mill far right Republican who attempts to wear the mask of a moderate.
He takes money from Koch Bros, is endorsed by the NRA and would further expand access to firearms, opposed Syrian refugees coming to MD, cut hundreds of millions of dollars in funding from the education department, was willing to give billions of dollars in corporate welfare tax breaks to mega corporations to attract Amazon coming to Moco, etc.
Hogan has all the hallmarks of a corporate tool. Jealous it is. People need to stop getting hung up on labels and actually examine these candidate's policies in practice.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) on Tuesday signed a series of bills aimed at addressing gun violence into law.
The bills include a ban on “bump stocks” and a so-called red flag law, which makes it easier for law enforcement to take guns away from individuals deemed to be dangerous

Hogan made a campaign promise that he kept; he kept the legislature from increasing taxes in the state and lowered household expenses for many MD families by lowering the tolls. Had Brown won, he likely would have continued raising taxes as O'Malley had done repeatedly through his tenure in office. Hogan paid for higher state expenses with the money that was earned by the state from the taxes on a longer summer when he mandated schools start after Labor Day. Jealous would likely overturn the XO for school starts, which would lose the added revenue for the state from the taxes from the longer summer.
The residents of MoCo have a lot more disposable income than the rest of the state. MoCo residents may be willing to pay more taxes, but there are many people in the rest of the state that are already pressured by our high tax rate and don't want to fund Jealous' very expensive initiatives or the revenue loss from lost taxes.

"Maryland continues to offer high quality lifestyle to many residents, with good schools and good amenities."
If you believe our schools are good, and will even stay at the level they are at now when we keep adding thousands of kids each year, with the pitiful funding we get from the state, we are in even bigger trouble than I thought. Or, your kids are in private and you don't care. But if you want property values to remain high, the schools have to be good. And, they've been in a downward slide for many years now.

I don't think that Montgomery County is ruined.
Please name the last big company that decided to establish itself in MoCo.
That's your definition of success? It's not mine.
