MS-13 started here. It's an American phenomenon, just like the mob and other gangs.
MS-13 did not start in the US.
Yes it did. It started in Los Angeles. This is well known.
Sure. It "started" in LA, formed entirely by immigrants from Central American. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39645640
A reputation for extreme violence
The gang began in the barrios of Los Angeles in LA during the 1980s, formed by immigrants who had fled El Salvador's long and brutal civil war. Other members came from Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.
MS-13 established a reputation for extreme violence and for killing with machetes. It took root in neighbourhoods dominated by Mexican gangs, and later expanded to other parts of the country.
According to the FBI, the gang has spread to 46 states.
In 2012, the US Treasury designated the gang a "transnational criminal organisation". It was the first street gang to receive the dubious honour, placing it alongside much larger international cartels like the Mexican Zetas, Japanese Yakuza and Italian Camorra.

Illegal immigration is wrong and should be stopped, reversed by rampant deportation.
Those of you who disagree are having trouble resolving your idealistic delusions and the reality which is hitting your neighborhood schools.
Wake up.
Discussion here is about MS-13.

Sorry - it can’t bolster your anti-immigration propaganda like you hoped it would.
Why is it that you can't write "anti-illegal immigration," which is what we are against, but keep twisting it to "anti-immigration?" I mean, are you afraid to debate this issue honestly?
ILLEGAL immigration is wrong and is tanking our schools. We should stop ILLEGAL immigration. We should deport the ILLEGAL immigrants.
You are FOS. Trump is anti-immigration. Illegal immigrants are just one of groups he’s trying to keep out.
Proof it, you lying sack. He is anti illegal immigration and anti immigration from areas of heavy terrorist activity. Regardless,
groups like MS 13 are a direct result of unfettered illegals crossing by the millions.
You are demonstrating that a-hole + gullible fool is a terrible combination. GTH, Trump trash.

Ah the irony. 15 pages of Liberals whining about "prove that MS-13 is caused by illegal immigration" is shot down time and again, and here you are. Projection is truly a fascinating psychological phenomenon.

There were 0 gang-related incidents in our school system going back several years. In fact, all they could do is post articles from Breitbart and other extremist sources claiming there was a national crisis. Not a single incident in our jurisdiction. It was fear mongering plain and simple.
I don't know what school system you are in, but the Post has been doing great journalism on this phenomenon. Both the linked article and one about two months ago about Langley Park.
I'm pro-immigrant and pro-DACA, which is why I refuse to pretend gangs aren't a problem. My kids may not be at risk, but I care about the thousands of immigrant kids in our area who are, due to their neighborhood or having family in Central America.
Which neighborhoods and which schools? It's an issue, but WHERE?
Jesus Christ she just gave you another example. Guessing you don’t live in Langley Park so you don’t care about that neighborhood.
So Langley Park and Fairfax HS. We're up to two now...
Wirt Middle School from the article that started this discussion. Which means ALSO Parkdale HS.
High Point HS in Prince George's County. Buck Lodge Middle School.
