Bancroft (Spanish Dominant) - #10
Marie Reed (Spanish) - #40
Powell - #50
Do we have a shot at any of these? Guessing not, in which case, anywhere we should add post-lottery for Spanish PK3?
Not swami. I'd add
Tyler
Houston
No chance of Tyler post lottery.
Should add - Bancroft is our IB. Prefer somewhere nearby. Womp womp.
I think you are out of luck OP.
Unless Houston is an option and has space (no idea) your IB preference was your best shot. Your master number must have been pretty bad.

Stokes Spanish EE

Thank you Swami!
Swami says you will get into Stokes EE French and then Spanish in short order. And then SSMA. You will need to remember to leave the "school" part of your enrollment form blank, because you will land in the WL top 10 of TRY, TR4, ITS and Lee. You will eventually get offers from TR and ITS and go with commute, enrolling at ITS the second week of August.
You will feel like you cannot believe you wasted your summer on this waitlist drama, and also grateful

We're PK3, no sib preference but do have a good back up option if this all falls through. Already struck out on the WL #208 at LAMB and in the 60s at Bethune. We aren't holding out hope for either of those but. as you can see, we prefer dual language.
1. DC Bilingual
2. Shepherd
3. Mundo Verde
4. Powell Dual lang
5. Bancroft
6. EL Haynes
7. CMI
8. Takoma EC
9. Capital City
10. Breakthrough
11. Center City Brightwood
12. Whittier (IB)
I think I’m your neighbor and waitlist twin on both LAMB and Bethune. FYI, many people on this board say you can get into Bethune from a WL spot in the 70s, so don’t give up hope.

1. Latin
2. Ludlow Taylor
3. Creative Minds
4. Inspired Teaching
5. Basis
Someone has to get into Latin without a sibling, and you are going to be the one. You are grateful for the bus drop off near CHML and will be using it daily.
Swami you are my hero!
Follow the swami. She pilgrimages in March/April each year.
Swami I will forever be an apostle to your swaminess — we got into to Latin today!!

I pray you have something good for me!
Swami says the good I have is the haphazard nature of your list. You will get into Sela at lottery day, wonder why the waitlist is so short; get into SSMA by July with your 30+ waitlist number, wondering why the list moved so quickly.
You will try to join the parent organization, but man, why do they argue so much?
Swami we got into Yu Ying! Woot woot!
YY parent here, you will love the school. You may not love your child's English progression (since she/he will spend so much time in Chinese, so I suggest you supplement at home). I have had two children through YY. We love it, but are totally aware of its faults. I am a strict parent: my children catch up on their English which YY doesn't require. The outdoor space at YY is fantastic - arguably the best natural space for any school in DC, period. There should be more outdoor classes, especially for the science time. Do email the school and ask to get onto the parent listserve. It will help you get information about upcoming meetings, you will be welcomed at PA meetings should you choose to attend. The Aftercare program is probably the most enriching you can find. It's also priced accordingly.
