Or the fact that he was kicked off the bench not one, but twice, for his willful disregard for the Constitution he and his supporters purport to defend?
I forget who’s analysis this was, but it was about a 30-point swing between Trump’s numbers in Alabama and Moore’s. One third of that was democratic energy attributable to opposition to Trump, another third was Roy Moore‘s problems prior to the Post article (he only won his statewide race in 2012 by 3 points,) and the last third was a response to the Post article.

I'm a Democrat, but I don't think Doug Jones would carry his state in a presidential race unless his opponent was Roy Moore.
You never know. There's plenty of people in Alabama who are pro-Obamacare (a Democratic issue) and pro-equity (i.e. no tax plans that primarily benefit the rich). Once people get to know Doug Jones and realize that despite his stance on abortion (a negative to them), Democrats are not so bad...

Two years means TWO YEARS the republicans have one less person on their team and TWO YEARS the democrats are stronger fighting P45.
Go ahead and write it off as "it's only 2 years, big deal...", but coupled with the elections in VA, NJ, and elsewhere we are sending a message you cannot deny.
And everything you just said was applicable to the Democratic Party after Trump won, but I’m remembering the adamant denials by liberals that his win didn’t really mean anything and wasn’t sending a message. Hmm, remember that?

They weren't smears, but probably not. This *is* Alabama we're talking about. At least some people draw the line at pedophilia.
