Well, he certainly never seemed straight.

Speak for yourself dear. Plenty of us ladies have swooned over him for years, and last time I checked, Kim Basinger, Carmen Electra and Mayte Garcia are all women.

Yes, and bisexual men date women too.

Thanks for the enlightenment and cliched eye roll. My point is that many women who seem to lack the ability be attracted to androgyny assume that person must be gay/bi. It's really tired.

I think the fact that he wore heels, Ruffles, make up, changed his name to a symbol that embodies males and female, and has a persona of being super sexually charged might be enough to lead someone to the suspicion that he was bi.

Look at David Bowie.

So sad. I just saw a video of him the other day and was thinking he still looks good. He is up there with Elvis as one of the great charismatic music legends of all time. I remember When Doves Cry being played over and over again at the pool when I was a kid. I think that was the first song I ever memorized all the words and squeals to. RIP.

I am too. I'm sadder about this than I have been about any other celebrity death.

+2. I've never been super sad about the death of a celebrity before. Just listened to Purple Rain for the first time since hearing of his death yesterday--fuck. . Such a shame--he was so talented and did so much for people even outside of music.

I feel for those with issues, struggles, addictions (or otherwise) that people deal with internally. My sympathies are all yours.

What I do NOT feel sorry for, are people who have issues, struggles, addictions (etc) and take it out on other people. You do not get my sympathy. Nope.

Whatever Prince seemed to be dealing with, he seemed like a good person, and did a lot to help elevate others.

He wasn't remotely androgynous. He was camp.

He chose to take drugs and they killed him. Along with Whitney Houston.

Its a death of shame. Total shame.

so what? You can't mourn someone who died from a drug overdose? Just bc someone does drugs does not mean their entire career or accomplishments or contributions to the arts should be written off.

Where did anyone say that they should be written off? You're seriously over-stretching here.
