This is from 12 years ago. The price of admissions have gone up considerably. I have to say SO WHAT. GOOD for the schools to get something more from these applicants who can pay more. In the end, it supports the academics for the entire student body. My friend was asked by a very wealthy client how much it would cost to get into Columbia a few years ago. 15 million was the answer. I would say that's probably increased to 20 mil today. If I had a few hundred million in the bank and it ONLY cost 20 million to get my kid in. Why not.. better give them an education then leave it in a trust. But it takes so much more than a good education for "success" in life.

As for Malia, look at those genes. Forget that she's the president's daughter. Her parents are super smart, she probably does not fall far from the tree. Will she be as accomplished.. who knows. The children of presidents rarely can live up to those high expectation. Good luck to her wherever she goes. She is already a winner of the birth lottery.

Not to hate on Jenna but I don't think she was Yale material, she knew it and went to UT Austin and had a great college experience.

Jenna Bush (and this Democrat says the Bush girls turned out pretty well) applied to UT when her dad was Texas governor. A president's daughter, especially an Obama, can pretty much get in wherever she applies.
