That is how Landon handles issues. Everything must first pass thru the PR filter. Who cares what's right, or moral, let's instead look at how it will play in the court of public opinion. And by all means, keep it out of the paper.

Armstrong's response to parents throwing underage beer bashes? Keep it out of the papers.

His is first and foremost a coach.

Have a look at Landon's board of trustees and consider the most influential coach is also a lead administrator who has been there for over 40 years. Maybe Neill was brought in to be more progressive than the Armstrong legacy, and we'll see if that is the case over time. Armstrong was an 800 grand a year yes man at the behest of the club that runs the school.

Well I guess every school faces this dilemma then.

Look across all of the IAC and WCAC schools - you will notice several head coaches who also happen to teach.

Middle school head is a wonderful woman. The teachers in the middle school were also excellent. Landon is a compartmentalized experience from lower to middle to high school. The Lord of the Flies problems are upper school. Sports mentality takes over and priorities change.
