I would be concerned if your child would be bored. The teachers should be meeting the kids where they are at and motivating them. If this isn't the case you should re-evaluate your school, PP.

Just seeing this thread - not sure if OP is still looking for feedback. DC was placed in 1st grade by our local Elem school after doing kindergarten in montessori - turned 6 about 5 weeks after the Sept 30th cut off. Has done well - is a little less mature than peers in some ways but has done very well academically. I have asked a few teachers along the way and they have said DC would have been bored in a lower class. Depends on the child.

It's now a NAEYC requirement that all licensed centers have staff with four years of college. NAEYC-accredited centers have been shifting over to this for years.

However, you need to make an informed decision. He needs to be tested and evaluated by professionals. There is a big difference between bright and gifted (just being honest). So I'd wait to K and then work closely with your school's gifted coordinator to get the right assessments.

I don't know why you are so desperate to send your kid to school early. Are you trying to save on a year of daycare cost?
Would that be so terrible? Some people struggle to pay for daycare you know.
