Because the only other awful possibility would be that she sold them into sex abuse slavery or into an illegal adoption by nefarious people who couldn’t qualify for a legal adoption. Either of those possibilities would take a level of rational thinking and planning that don’t seem likely in a paranoid schizophrenic psychotic state.
However taking one child at a time and smothering or strangling them to death and throwing them into a dumpster in a large garbage bag is a very basic plan even a psychotic person could easily follow through with. Nobody’s looking for missing children until enough time has passed that the garbage has long since gone to the local landfill or incinerator. A toddler in a trash bag wouldn’t raise any red flags it’s just a bag of garbage maybe a little smelly maybe not if the trash got picked up the next day or two.
It’s so obvious that she had to have ended them. And frankly this former prosecutor would much prefer to think they were smothered by mommy in a too tight hug than to be living still in sex trafficking or some hellish adoption placement with abusers or pedophiles.
Whenever kids go missing it makes me feel better to think they’re with Jesus than to consider them alive somewhere. I have seen too much of the trauma created by being alive somewhere with people who aren’t the sort to take you home to your loving family.

I don't blame a sick mother for being profoundly mentally ill.
I blame the family and friends around her for knowing how sick she is and being in denial about her danger to her kids. Those kids are paying the price for a families' collective denial.
Her family went to great lengths to protect their children, actually. They also went to great lengths to get her help. You don’t seem to have any grasp of how difficult it is to manage an adult with serious mental illness in our very broken mental health and justice systems.

I'm sorry I don't know how to link the article but it's from Moco show.
She was found to be incompetent to stand trial nine times. I wonder what will be different this time.
The kids would be 13 and 15 now.
She’s been malingering and I hope there’s documented proof of that now so she can stand trial.
The woman is mentally ill. I find it appalling how little sympathy people have for her. It's the fault of the family who were supposed to make sure the kids were not left alone with her. If this had happened today, her DH and her parents would be held accountable. I findi it sickening that her DH wants her in jail. She is insane. How is that her fault?
She is mentally ill, but she is not insane.
She knew what she did was wrong and that’s why she hid it. If she was truly insane, she would’ve killed the children right in front of her father.
Even if you’re mentally ill, you should be held accountable for your crimes.
If you are insane, then you go to a mental hospital.
She is a very intelligent, cold and calculated human who knows exactly what she did and she knows that was wrong and she needs to go to jail for it.
Do you think the Idaho guy should go to jail for killing all those people in that house?
That's a crazy assumption you just made -- because she didn't kill her children in front of their father, she should be held accountable as a sane person. We don't even know what happened to those children. One thing we DO know is that the mother is mentally ill.
Yes, she’s mentally ill but she’s also competent to stand trial. She is not insane.

She murdered all 3 of her children.
Completely different. Clancy tried to get help and was on 13 antipsychotics. The hospital should have never released her. She didn't tried to hide the kids, didn't lie, and tried to commit suicide for herself. Still terrible. She was in post partum psychosis.
A psychotic break, something set her off, she went crazy!
She killed, she jumps out of the window! Her children are dead, she is paralyzed.
Insane!
