The Stimulus.

For many years I've paid PEPCO $15 a month (the basic account handling fee) for a second electric meter I don't need. It just has three outlets on it in the basement that are infrequently used. I've paid PEPCO probably a total of $3,000 for just this over time, because I don't want to pay an electrician $200 to move the outlets to our other meter and shut off the second service.

I second renting in New York. It's a huge waste. Everyone is drinking the koolaid and thinks that it's normal to make 300k a year and only be able to afford a one bedroom apartment that's a million dollars and comes either monthly maintenance of a thousand plus. In reality most people are renting and spending all of their money on going out.

We made $250k/year and couldn't afford to buy. We figured even if we could, we'd have a mortgage of $3500 (if we were lucky) plus monthly maintenance of $2000. It's like renting from ourselves. I truly don't know how our friends are doing it.

+1 thought it was just me. I own an iPad iPhone and Mac with no issues but the mini is horrible.

Funny, we love ours. Got max storage and 3G/LTE cellular. It does everything for us for $20 a month and fits in my purse.

We don't have smartphones, so it's a huge moneysaver.

NP, still paying for it. I was not sure before. DC spent 6 weeks with public school kids and said they were much nicer and academically stronger. Now I am pretty sure I wasted 40 grand a year.

+2 Terrible year. Switch DC back to non-montessori school. Loves it. Montessori did something - changed our child's personality to the point where he was wound up and unhappy. He was so calm and cheerful over the summer and the snowmaggedon months.Wish I could get my 12K back as well
