I agree. Blame the white man. They introduced the concept of race and it's a bit difficult to erase hundreds of years of manipulation.

Everyone has a choice. You obviously are choosing to hate an entire race for something that only a few (and yes, in the larger scheme it was only a few) participated in. Sadly, slavery has been around since the beginning of time and was present in other cultures (e,g., African, Incan, etc.) long before the white man entered the scene. Perhaps people will eventually learn that hatred consumes its host. It doesn't harm the target.

This is not about blaming or hating anyone. It's simply stating facts.

You're delusional. As you look around your company, take note of how many minorities are in supervisory/managerial positions. Take a look at those who are on your Board of Directors and/or those who hold Executive positions in your company. I'm willing to bet that the blacks in your company are in administrative roles. We are overrepresented there, not so much when it comes to positions that involve the title Manager/Director/VP, EVP, etc.

BTW, do some research on how blacks who are college educated are unemployed at a great percentage to similarly educated white people. Also look up how white FELONS are hired at a greater rate than non-felon blacks. Then take a look around DCUM and see how many judge resumes by the names on them.

Oh really? My CEO is African American, she is great at her job, and I don't give her race a second thought. Stop whining.

But all we have to do is follow the advice in this thread.

And what was the take away? Blacks should quit complaining and work hard for their future?

As stated by Walter Williams, "In sports, when have you heard a coach explain or excuse a black player's poor performance by blaming it on a "legacy of slavery" or on that player's being raised in a single-parent household? When have you heard sports standards called racist or culturally biased? I have yet to hear a player, much less a coach, speak such nonsense. In fact, the standards of performance in sports are just about the most ruthless anywhere. Excuses are not tolerated.

Stop making excuses.

Mr. Williams was spot on.

Will one of our AA posters please respond to Mr. Williams?

How do you feel about blacks who see racist motives everywhere and talk about it?

He just said how he feels about such individuals.

No he didn't. He said he doesn't associate with people who use slavery as an excuse. That is different from people who are quick to point out potential racist motives. They are not saying they cannot get ahead or do better but believe there is a sinister motives everywhere even when there may be none.

Question for you: when have you ever heard it used as an excuse? In what context?

And your quip about being beaten like a slave was not funny. In fact, it was in extremely poor taste.

Well you could start with reading about the past 35 posts on this blog and why don't you let the man describe his life experiences in his own words. Demonstrate your own genuine thought process not simply the ability to parse other people's phrases and thoughts.

Oh here we go again, you don't agree with me and that immediately makes me insane. Don't you get tired of personal attacking individuals?

I said in situations of equally qualified candidates the black candidate will be hired before the white candidate. What you are asking for is for less qualified black candidates to be hired simply because they are black. As long as blacks claim to be victims and entitled to jobs for which they are less qualified than the competition, they will never be taken seriously.

Blacks only need to make themselves equal to the competition and they will get the job every time. Stop believing it is easy to be white. White people have to apply to colleges, internships, jobs and promotions. White people experience plenty of disappointments along the way. When white people compete on equal footing with blacks, blacks are hired first because companies want to balance their demographics. It's not any easier to be white than it is to be black.

Again, you are wrong and research proves you are wrong. Look up the stats on the unemployment rate for college educated blacks and whites. Who suffer the highest unemployment rate? And what about the study where white FELONS were hired over blacks with no criminal record?

I see you disregarded my point about position levels. It is fairly accurate to say that blacks are primarily relegated to admin/support positions. White women benefit the most from affirmative action. They are usually found in exec positions at a higher rate than minorities.
