PS Before I get flamed with "Who the heck are you and what do you know" let me just say I'm nothing more than a Mom who has been somewhat obsessively following the scores for the past 9 years (while my kids have been passing through the process) and I have read virtually every "scores" thread available during that time. So no, I'm not an AART or committee member but I have been following closely. One thing I can tell you is that, historically, the committee seems to be pretty generous during the appeals process (maybe because they understand that the parents, by and large, feel strongly enough that they have paid for private testing). More than half seem to get in on appeal each year. Good luck!

Correction: I think 19 is also definitely in. And so is 25 (I know someone who's kid had the exact same WISC 130 and GBRS 10 who got in on appeal last year). Some of the ones "too close to call" may well get in too.

Oh man, I hope you're right. Even if we don't get in, at least we won't have regrets for not appealing.

Is this based previous experience that someone with these scores got in?


From the last 2 years stats. Check on the last year's appeals thread.

Really? How can your principal be offering spots in the Local Level IV class when s/he doesn't yet know how many open slots will be available (namely, how many more kids will be guaranteed a space after successful appeal). I don't get this.

We received the local level IV eligibility letter today. The decision has to be sent to the school by Jun 12 and we don't get the appeal decision until 28th. Wondering how to handle the situation. Will have to check with the AART.

In the past 'yes'. Who know what will happen this year. 135 is high but not among the highest. Your VCI and PRI scores might play an important role.

Hey, thanks for answering my question. Is SBS format different than the WISC?


My DC took WISC IV instead, so can't give you an exact answer, but I've heard that it's similar to WISC less the working memory and processing speed. Hope that helps.

Sorry. +1 in this context means "i'd like to know the answer to that too" and not "those scores will get your child into the program." GBRS 8 is pretty low, and WISC is pretty good. In past years, I'd say probably in on appeal. this year, too close to call IMO.
