Not really true. There are lots of people who have vasectomies/ tubes tied / birth control. According to you they are not because they cannot reproduce. Also those who are infertile or post-menopause. On top of it, many gay people already have children of their own.

More heteros do it than homosexuals. So your term is inaccurate. Homosexuals are 1% of the population. Heterosexuals who have had anal sex are about 20% of the adult population. And nearly 80% of heterosexuals have another form of sex that does not produce offspring (oral).

You can do the math yourself. By your own definition of sodomy, it should be called heterosodomy, and homosexuals are also doing it.

Over half the nation supports gay marriage, and well over half are religious. That means there are a lot of religious people who support it. I happen to be agnostic/atheist, but I don't think it's fair to blame religion for narrow mindedness.
