Doesn’t this seem like the game plan? If ICE stirs up enough chaos, Trump can invoke the Insurrection Act and interfere with elections going forward. People suspect this is coming, right?

So, ICE can decide it won’t identify themselves while grabbing a person of the streets without reading them their rights….. and everyone else should use the actual laws and use the court system…….

Meanwhile, the country is unraveling and irreversible changes are underway. More damaging still, people’s mindsets are being shaped: that despite the Constitution and the rule of law, one man can wield enormous power; that a democratically elected Congress will willingly submit; that the Supreme Court can be just another tool. The idea that the U.S. could slide into dictatorship no longer feels implausible, and if Trump doesn’t do it, someone smarter and more polished eventually could, without most Americans even realizing it.
