Over the next few months you will see the slow walk out of several of the county level administrators who were responsible for this mess (Boyd, Thompson, etc). There will be little fanfare tied to it, and those leaving will claim they got a better job, but they’ve been told to leave. The county has instituted or soon will institute several policies that are in direct relation to this case. These will help fix the problems. Coaches are already calling these the Overton rules. In terms of Overton, he will never coach in Fairfax County again, nor will anyone that was associated with him. We won’t ever see the report because the county knows it screwed up. Hopefully they’ve learned their lesson.

Looks like this person knew what they were talking about…

Was Michelle Boyd asked to leave based on findings from the investigation?

Michelle Boyd, Assistant Superintendent, is leaving FCPS. There is a job announcement for her position.

The coaches at fairfax PAID CASH to get players. IMO it was a worse tactic, albeit on a smaller scale, than Hayfield.

And spare me the "oh no, the coach was just a misunderstood guy who slipped cash to players for totally altruistic purposes!" nonsense.

What are you talking about? That didn't happen.
Its too bad FCPS didn't release the report we all paid for so everyone would have the facts laid out.

An *assistant coach* lent a *family friend* money to get an apartment. The apartment was in bounds for FHS. The kid played one season of JV, barely saw the field, and somehow ended up crossing paths with Overton in talks to transfer to TSJ. Overton heard the story and saw an opportunity to throw mud at the FHS coach, who had (correctly) complained about Overton's cheating the year before.

Ahh yes, and Kris Jones (a 5-star going to Georgia) just up and decided to transfer from Mt. View to Fairfax all on his own? He didn't want to play LB behind a DL going to Ohio State? Mt. View was 11-2 when Jones was a sophomore and 11-2 when he was a junior. He just up and left to join a Fairfax team who was 2-4 and 3-7 before Rojas? Coincidentally transferred the season after Rojas (who lived behind the movie theater in Centreville) graduated? I'm sure he wasn't "enticed" to come to Fairfax at all...

Well it’s different demographics in control over at Fairfax so it was all just a coincidence

Heard Hayfield got the Westfield "principal"....interesting move.

He's terrible. Good riddance.

Interesting how the DSS who was swapped into Hayfield mid-scandal was then promoted to an admin position.

^^The family was mad the kid barely played for JV. Clearly they think their kid is a much better player than he actually is. You have to be pretty terrible to not even get time on JV.
