That's long been his style, come down hard and then wrangle concessions.

If I am wrong, the worst outcome is a sudden impeachment and Vance is the next president.

I hope you're right, I really do, but so far no one's stopped him from any of his insanity.

It'll be safe as long as you're not a terrorist or advocating on behalf of anti-Israel interests. MYOB and you'll be safe and will have a great time.

Anonymous wrote:The USA dollar will crash if attacking greenland? How and why?

What do you mean why?

Other countries hold our debt is the simplest answer,

Why a Dollar Weakening/Crisis Could Happen:
Geopolitical Instability: A war with Denmark (Greenland's sovereign nation) would shock global markets, leading investors to flee risky assets (like US stocks) and seek safe havens (like gold or the Swiss Franc/Yen), reducing demand for the dollar.
Trade Wars: Such a conflict could escalate into wider trade conflicts, similar to past tariff scares, causing "Sell America" sentiment and weakening the dollar and US assets.
Loss of Confidence: A war over territory, especially with a NATO ally, could signal erratic US foreign policy, eroding trust in American stability and the dollar's reserve currency status.
Resource Access: While the US might gain resources, the cost and instability of war would likely outweigh immediate benefits, increasing economic uncertainty.

Not to mention collapsing the $ has always been the plan... by Don and his sickos yep they said it out loud on mulitple occassions. Remember Donny boy loves selling crypto...

Dollar yes is going to crash. That has always been Trump's plan.

And also the plan is for Russia to invade Poland that is going to happen. Unfortunately MAGA got us here, they are too stupid to understand the consequences of electing an idiot.

Will our national anthem get booed?

Well, our national anthem was loudly booed at a basketball game on saturday. Don’t blame them.

I think I'll buy the small amount of pounds and Euros I was planning to take now. By July, they could cost twice as much, the way things are going.

I’m not interested in canceling it myself at all, but if events spiral, I wonder how travel insurance will even help. Need to check those exclusions; I seem to remember acts of war mean they ain’t paying out.

I bought insurance for our cruise and week in London next July that is a 100% refund if you cancel for medical reasons. Before I clicked purchase, I decided to up it to "cancel for any reason and get 75% refund". Just in case... I got the insurance through USAA, which was a bit cheaper than the cruise line insurance and a few other vacation insurance companies.

Maybe there's time to add extra insurance to your trip now.

OMG. Chicago is fine. Stay in the touristy areas, and you'll be fine. There are some really bad neighborhoods in Chicago, but you won't be visiting them. The nice areas are, well, nice. No problems whatsoever. Go visit Chicago. It's great in the summer, BTW.

I’m sure with everything Trump has done and said he’s going to do, and now Venezuela, I can’t imagine Americans being viewed favorably. Even though I didn’t vote for Trump and this madness, I feel dirty, I feel complicit.

I don’t really care about my vacation. I care more about our country and hopefully some of our elected leaders finally standing up to the bully.

I just got back from a European vacation. No problems, but that was pre all this crazy talk about the US stealing Greenland.

My best friend is going next week to Europe (Germany, Italy). She's not worried. I think these countries welcome tourist dollars. My friend is not a maga, so I don't think there will be a problem.

Later this year, though, who knows? If the US invades Greenland, yes, change your travel plans. Americans, even those who oppose Trump and everything he stands for, will not be welcome in Europe.

My Dad's a dual EU citizen and one of my siblings lives abroad. Their community (and every American who lives abroad) understands how appalled everyone is, but they are worried if Trump takes even more aggressive action that they'll cancel American work visas.
