“Really elite” players? They don’t stay at FVU for long. An efficient practice sounds like a major perk!

FVU propaganda machine coming out in full force. Your club stinks and so does your head guy. No amount of troll posts will change that.

It's not even close, it is basic playground elementary school soccer during recess or PE class.

Very different than the play style ML coached with the 2010s last year.

Very different results also.

Don’t tell LS parents that! They don’t want to hear it.

seriously? I know someone on each of those teams that is already playing up, even before the SY change. That's not suddenly going to change for next year because of the SY change. Each of the clubs is going to put together the best team they can from the eligible candidates, and if that includes some Q4 2013s or Q4 2014s, then that's who will be on the team.

Our club's unstated policy is along the lines of 'no one plays up if they're not on the top team', so I expect to see some Q4 2013s move down based on that rule, but we'll see for the Q4 2013s who are already starters on the top team but could move down and become stars
Sounds like you are mostly talking about Loudoun/ NVA, which has the most “flexible perspective”. Clubs should require that you have to be on top team and top third, not just top team. Anyways, anyone in the know knows that these teams have set rosters already and tryouts are more of a formality. Most Q4 2013s already know if they will continue or play in next age group. I’ve been surprised by how many 2013s are actually going to be in the 2014 age group. Depending on how some of these clubs handle roster size, I think a lot of people are going to be shocked.

FVU coach for 2026-2027 U13 was posted: MV. What do we need to know?

There is rich discussion on MV throughout these boards. Not sure I've ever seen a positive comment.

He's doesn't play the parent game and most of the girls are okay with him. He is the lesser of many evils in this area.

Agree! Lots of parents are negative because he doesn't entertain any fraternizing and being influenced by parents unlike other coaches in the region. If you appreciate that and if your kid is a strong & serious player you will be happy. Probably best suited to the younger age teams too.

I think it has more to do with the lack development for his players. His teams play kickball and get worse when they play for him coming from another coach. He has a record of failure with teams and his best players head for greener pastures by the time recruiting comes around.

I think some of this could be seen as true depending on who you are but "record of failure with teams and best players leaving" rings hollow. He's been with Union for 1.5 years, Brave just for 1 year and Vienna, who did not have a pathway to anything, before that. He had the 10's at Vienna/Brave and now the 12's at Union who have had relative success. He's definitely not a parent schmoozer.

Relative success playing kickball with early bloomers. BRAVE was one of the worst ECNL programs in the country.

How are the BRAVE 10s doing now that everyone has grown? Being big and fast and kicking it do not work in high school.

Y’all have fun with MV! How are the Union 09s liking it!

He certainly picks and amplifies favorites. The girls are "ok" with him because they are terrified to speak to him.

Not a glowing endorsement, but sounds like it could be worse. Based on him being mid, I would assume McLean girls dont come over, so FVU will not be strong for the foreseeable future.
