Of course op should do it up and look awesome at this wedding. It has nothing to do with not moving on from her husband, but doesn’t mean she has forgotten he exists or that he cheated on her.
Most of these dresses are so dull and unflattering. Op is in her 30s. Many of the women under the age of 30 are going to be dressed in something that looks like a stripper could wear it, even if it is a church wedding. Op shouldn’t go that revealing, but she has a lot of wiggle room between the nun dress above and a stripper dress, and she should lean into it if it makes her feel good. Even the Adrienne p dress…. Serisouly you guys, you’d put a mid 30s woman in that?

OP, I think you should do the second one here with the shoulders covered. It's modest but sexy, elegant but trendy, and I think it would look good on an hourglass figure with scrappy sandals and perfect hair/makeup.
Why is everyone trying to dress OP “modest”?????
Because this forum is filled with 50 year old women who weren't fashionable when they were 30, and mostly just troll the Beauty and Fashion Forum to, ironically, tell every poster that you shouldn't try to dress fashionably or flatteringly, but instead should aspire to not care about fashion at all. Mostly, they seem to think that wanting to look nice is a vice.
I've spent a lot of time on the dcum fashion forum over many many years, not because i've ever gotten any fashion advice, but because these nutty frumps are just as entertaining as the Relationships forum.
Yeah I'm always astounded at the frumpy recommendations. None of these will impress men. Men like dresses that the women here would hate-- cocktail mini sheaths, bandage dresses. Leaving nothing to the imagination. Think of a sorority party in 2006 and wear that.
this is why several of us suggested Reformation dresses![]()
Except you suggested the frumpiest dress on reformations website
this is what I suggested : https://www.thereformation.com/products/briony-dress/1317086OXE.html?dwvar_1317086OXE_color=OXE
Posters have criticized it as too summery (I don’t agree) and not enough structure (I also don’t agree, and if one has a problem area, just wear some shapewear) but no one called it frumpy. I also suggested that OP peruse the Reformation website since she knows what styles look best on her, and to bring her BF with her and try some on to get a man’s opinion. But you know better.
DP. I am calling it frumpy.
Can you define frumpy? It is DCUM’s favorite word but I think you are using it differently
Honestly that dress doesn't even look good on the model trying to sell it. It doesn't fit well on her, is a big ugly print. That said, now that I am fully awake and clicked the other colors, the solid colors aren't bad. So I amend my statement to say that the flower print versions are frumpy and sad looking. The other colors are fine.
