They have tried to make peace with the Arabs many many times and each and every time the Arabs have rejected it. When Israel tries to make peace with the Arabs, the Arabs view this as a weakness and choose instead of peace to attack Israel and its people. Israeli self-defense is genocide to the same extent the use of nuclear weapons in WWII was genocide. The extent of casualties is not what defines genocide. In both these examples military action was/is to bring about the neutralization of opponents who were/will be unrelenting until totally neutralized through definitive measures. Japan wasn't going to stop fighting until their cities were being totally obliterated and they saw the writing on the wall. Hamas is even worse - Gaza looks like a pancake, yet Hamas continues low-level attacks and still holds hostages; it doesn't care what casualties are sustained by the Palestinians.

Peace is a threat to Israel just as is the release of all hostages as it prevents Israel from further genocide and conquering of Gaza. Just a little critical thinking and observation makes this pretty obvious.
There are no Hamas members interested in peace with Israel. Hamas, by definition, is dedicated to the elimination of the Jewish state and of the Jews as a people. Hamas "negotiators" are merely stalling for time to try to allow Hamas to reconstitute itself while they support the fiction and propaganda message that they are willing to negotiate. Their negotiating is merely the expression of extortionate demands which, if accepted, would ensure Hamas' survival.
There are no Zionists members interested in peace with Palestinians. Zionism, by definition, is dedicated to the elimination of the Palestinian state and the Palestinians as people from their land. Israeli "negotiations" are merely stalling for time to allow Israel to exterminate and ethnically cleanse Gaza and then the West bank while they support the fiction and propaganda that they are wanting to negotiate. Their negation is just a performance for the western world to pretend that they actually desire peace, when in reality there goal is to annex Gaza and the West Bank for the creation of a Jewish majority apartheid ethnostate.
