This is very true. I went to top schools, and I do not waste my breath trying to debate which is the best or worst Ivy. They are all highly regarded. That's more than enough for me and probably everyone else who went/goes to them too.

I had no idea people were so obsessed with Ivies until I started looking at this board a couple years ago as my own kids started their college search. It's been eye opening.

People should look for the programs that best fit their goals and disregard the boundaries of ancient athletic leagues. It's kind of funny that the Ivy League isn't even good at football, which is one of the reasons it exists.

To be clear as the person who wrote that comment, I am not a Cornell booster at all. Just stating my opinion.

My high schooler isn’t applying for colleges just yet. She is wanting to major in engineering. Cornell is the only Ivy she is considering. Also MIT, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and UofM. The rest of the Ivy Leauge schools don’t seem to be as strong in engineering. I dont think it has ever crossed her mind if random people think it is “the worst Ivy.” Its a fantastic choice for engineering

100% accurate which is why I think it’s state school people commenting. Don’t agree with elite schools disparaging publics either, but tend to think it’s not really the secure elite doing it but a notch down.

Not at all! People that ask is the Ivies well and have many in the family at them do not talk this way or create these stupid rankings. Getting into one of the 8 is very big deal at the NE privates.
