I personally think Tori is a huge spoiled brat. Telling her wonderful mother that she "doesn't want to be anything like her"? I hope she falls flat on her face as she sneers at her family, at least until she realizes how enormously privileged and fortunate she is to have two parents who love her dearly.

I can't stand that kind of snotty sanctimony. If I were her parents, I'd say she doesn't have to go to Princeton, but she has to either go to another college or get a job. Immediately.

These scenes are right up the alley of the rich and shameless. Just the other day I had to shoo my neighbor’s leashless nomad of a dog out of our yard. This is a thing that is annoying as hell. It’s remarkable how these people have medical degrees that took many years to achieve, yet their dog just consistently wanders the neighborhood free to be hit by any speeding maniac that drives by.

I wonder if we have the same neighbors! So sick of seeing their leashless dog roaming around our yard and the rest of the neighborhood.

I don't get mental illness vibe. I get smart and mature rebelling against the superficial, materialistic culture in which she was raised. She is very spoiled but at the same time sees how vapid and transactional relationships are in that kind of place. Which she articulated beautifully in that brilliant alumni interviewer speech. She has no idea what kind of life she wants, much less how to go about getting it, but knows she does not want the kind of life her parents have. Nothing wrong with that, but she has a lot of work to do to figure things out.

I really like this show, but I’m highly annoyed at Amanda Peet’s character waltzing around in that huge house with no job and no idea that her financial future is hanging by a thread.

It’s not about exclusivity. Owen is on the Office of Foreign Assets Control Specially Designated Nationals List (The OFAC list). Given that he describes himself as being in import/export you’re meant to infer that he’s a major drug or weapon trafficker or something of that nature. The consequences of being on the OFAC list start with being sort of a financial non person. You can’t transact most business in the US and in multiple other nations. It’s a crime for anyone involved. Coop is now involved in a very high stakes federal criminal enterprise

What I like about this investment scheme is that clearly Coop is going to take him for many millions of dollars. It'll be fun to watch how he does it.

I’m pissed that they are perpetuating misinformation about perimenopause. There are other options besides a $3000 unproven vaginal rejuvenation treatment. Ridiculous. But does show why those things take root - vulnerable rich people can be stupid.

Tori is being a major brat. Fine if she doesn’t want to go to Princeton, but it’s not unreasonable for her parents to ask what her plan is. I would seriously be like you’re going to be cut off the day you graduate if she was acting like that. Tell me where you’re going to live, tell me what job you’re going to get to earn money, or you don’t get just to run around and criticize other people’s lives.

(I have a close to graduating senior in high school).

100% agree. The money manager and wife are horrible actors. And the sauna scene was cringey. But Olivia Munn really is a revelation for me. Shame becase the actor playing the money manager was incredible in Banshee, a total scene-stealer. Not a super interesting part here.
