I don’t care if he’s Christian, but I do think that 7 children by three marriages and a cheating history speaks to a lack of character and integrity. And likely to his immaturity and inability to control himself.
His body, his choice.
Not in the military.
But didn't he have these affairs and divorces while in the military?

You can have divorces and affairs. You just aren’t going to be selected for a leadership position if you’ve had an affair. Conduct unbecoming.
I haven’t looked at his bio and divorce paperwork and won’t waste my time, but I highly doubt he had any leadership position after the affair.

The military cares...

Yep. He wouldn’t even get squadron command. Not with an affair.

Of course dcum doesn’t like him, he works for a living.
I will take a grunt over 10,000 4 star generals any day of the week.
He's far more than a grunt, but never made the "political" transition to rise above the rank of major. That said, he isn't a babe in the woods when it comes to civilian politics, having covered that in his stint at FOX. Yes, that's one of the reasons Trump nominated him, but it's not the only one. It seems like Trump is tired of the career politicians with token military service serving as SECDEF. He wants someone who will execute his agenda for the DoD - not someone who has their own agenda and is looking to sit on corporate boards for big $$$ after a few years.
Someone to "execute" with no executive experience?
It's just so painfully obvious. He has no executive experience. He's a Fox News weekend host. This isn't the job to get that executive experience. He has no chance of being effective.
He has no in-depth knowledge and no pre-concieved notions. He's pliable, will follow orders and fall on his sword if needed. He's not there to manage the military. He's there to manage public perception.
So then who is going to be managing the military? The rank and file deep staters?
The Deputy Defense Secretaries still to come. He has no entourage or loyalists of his own and will not have a role in selecting them. His job is just to present the news.
He's not a press secretary. Stop bending yourself into pretzels trying to justify this pick.
