I think part of the reason is that for many of us, this time was different. In 2016, one could say, voters didn’t really know Trump. Now, they either didn’t care or voted right for what he stands.
I’m not sure how buying plan b is a way to resist.
But, yes, let’s start a list of “resisting”:
Don’t vacation in red states or red districts? Is Philly ok but not Bedford County?
Don’t take a job in a red state?
Donate to NPR and PBS?
Donate to your liberal college?

If you need plan b and it becomes difficult to acquire, it is a good idea to stock up a little.

And my daughters have already said they aren't considering red states because of how they treat women and LGBTQ people.

My daughter did that 3+ years ago when creating college list.

Some people happy to see your kids won’t take spots from theirs at Wharton, Michigan, Penn State, etc.

Many of theses states have trouble recruiting talent in healthcare despite offering big bucks.

No one’s l over it. In 2016 there was no grassroots organization and people were freaking out. now in 2024 there are millions of us and we are calm and taking a moment to reflect but will be back pushing back on Trump’s agenda. There are many ways to resist besides protesting. I have no intention of being public, but there are other way that we can be some type of guard rail.

The midterms are only too short years away, where we can at least take back the house possibly the Senate.

I take some comfort and knowing that Trump is lazy and incompetent. I’m not saying it won’t be bad. With Trump it can always get worse, there’s really no bottom. But I also know that I am not a potted plant. I have agency, as do millions of Americans who love this country and want to make it a better place.
